LEARNING BEGINS AT HOME 🏠

In times when our communities are confronted by violence and tragedy involving the young, we are reminded that education does not begin only in the classroom. The home is the first school of life, where values are formed, faith is nurtured, and compassion is learned.

Parents, guardians, families, educators, and communities all share the responsibility of guiding the next generation. Alongside academic learning, our youth must also encounter love, understanding, discipline, and hope within their homes and communities.

As Sacred Scripture reminds us:

“Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it.” —Proverbs 22:6

Let us pray for our youth. Let us also foster them with love, understanding, and care, so that our homes may become places where faith, character, and respect for life are first learned.

Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for us!

In January 1995, Manila hosted one of the largest gatherings of young Catholics in history. The final Mass of World Youth Day, celebrated by Pope St. John Paul II at Luneta Park, drew an estimated 4 million people.

From January 10–15, youth from the Philippines and around the world filled the capital under the theme “As the Father sent me, so am I sending you” (John 20:21). The massive crowd at Rizal Park became a powerful sign of faith, joy, and missionary energy.

Pope John Paul II spoke directly to the young Church with these words:
“Young people of the Philippines and of the whole world: do not be afraid to be the saints of the new millennium! Open wide the doors to Christ!”

His message called a generation to holiness, courage, and evangelization. Many who were present still remember the electric atmosphere and the sense that the future of the Church was alive and vibrant.

More than thirty years later, WYD Manila 1995 remains a landmark of Catholic youth and one of the greatest papal gatherings ever recorded.

St. Pope John Paul II, pray for us!🙏
