BRIEF HISTORY:

Since the chapel's establishment almost four decades ago, religious leaders from the barangay have been working together to deepen the faith of their "Kasimarios." Several religious events were held, which greatly aided in igniting everyone's desire to serve the Lord unreservedly. Our Lady of Fatima was the chapel's Patron Saint in the mid 1980s. Later on, the patron saint of the barangay was changed to Our Lady of Lourdes in the year 1998. Both are titles of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but because the feast of Our Lady of Fatima is in May and the people of the Barangay celebrate their Fiesta in February, the majority of the people appealed to change the patron saint to Our Lady of Lourdes, whose feast day falls in February. Through the support and initiative of the late Msgr. Pet, then parish priest, the request was granted. The feast of the barangay is now being celebrated every third Saturday of February in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes.
