“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
(Psalm 5:3)
Many of us start our day with a cup of coffee. It’s warm, familiar, and helps us feel ready to face the day ahead. But even more important than waking up our bodies is waking up our hearts by spending time with God.
Just as coffee gives us energy, time with God gives our souls strength. When we begin the day with Him, we’re filled with peace, clarity, and purpose. Without that time, we can feel rushed, overwhelmed, or spiritually empty much like trying to get through the morning without our coffee.
The smell of fresh coffee often makes us slow down for a moment and enjoy the quiet. God invites us to do the same. He calls us to pause, be still, and sit in His presence. In those quiet moments, He renews our hearts and gently prepares us for whatever the day brings.
Starting the day with God doesn’t have to be complicated. A short prayer, a few verses, or a moment of gratitude can make all the difference. When we choose Him first, we don’t just face the day we walk through it with His peace leading the way
