Brothers and Sisters: Fr. Elmo and myself would like to make this appeal in behalf of Rev. Fr. Joenick Territorio who was formerly assigned here for four years as Assistant Parist Priest in our Parish in Oton. These past two years, he bravely faced the medical challenge of Nasopharyngeal Cancer (cancer around the neck area) where he underwent an operation, chemotherapy and radiation.
There was remission for a time but the cancer came back and he has to undergo the same treatment again.
I personally visited him today, August 18. He was pale, weak and in pain. Why? The doctors at the Cardinal Santos Hospital in Manila found a tumor at the base of his spine which causes severe pain. He will leave for Manila on Saturday ( August 22 ) and will have a spine operation to remove the tumor on August 25 at the Cardinal Santos Hospital.
Itโs the only hospital in the Philippines that has the surgical equipment and doctors who could handle this very difficult case. Recovery at the hospital might take him a month.
I personally discussed this matter of posting about his illness for two most important reasons: please pray for his operation, healing and recovery and please let us support him financially.
I, together with Fr. Elmo, appeal for your generous assistance for his operation and hospitalization. Let us manifest our love for him, for the Lordโs priest, by supporting him financially in this huge medical challenge. For your contribution, please send it to the Parish Office and get your receipt.

We start our novena prayers for his healing tomorrow, August 19, Feast of St. Ezekiel Moreno, Patron of Cancer Patients. St. Ezekiel Moreno received his minor orders in 1870 at the Cathedral of Jaro, Iloilo City. He ministered for some time here in our country. A saint walked in our midst.
