๐Ÿ’œ Today, August 3rd, we celebrate the feast of Saint Lydia of Thyatiraโ€”a remarkable businesswoman and the first recorded Christian convert in Europe!

Before her encounter with the Apostle Paul, Lydia was a successful, independent dealer of rare and luxurious purple cloth. When she heard Paul preach by the river, the Lord opened her heart, and she immediately embraced the faith alongside her entire household.

Martha was the one who welcomed Jesus into her home, cooked the meals, and made sure everyone was taken care of. If your to-do list feels endless today, you are in good company. Martha teaches us that our daily hustle is a form of loveโ€”but she also reminds us to pause, breathe, and sit at the feet of Jesus.

As this month comes to a close, we pause to thank God for His countless blessings both the prayers He answered and the lessons He lovingly taught us through every challenge.

Every note we sing, every Mass we serve, and every moment we share is a reminder that Godโ€™s grace is always enough. ๐Ÿค

To every young person reading this: no matter what youโ€™re facing today, donโ€™t forget to look back and see how faithful God has been. A grateful heart sees blessings even in the smallest moments.

In the busyness of life, we can easily become overwhelmed by many responsibilities. Todayโ€™s Gospel gently reminds us that before we serve, we are first called to be with Jesus. When we make time to listen to Him in prayer, He gives us the strength and peace we need each day.

As a St. Cecilia Choir, may we always remember that our music begins with a heart that listens to God.
