Our Grade 9 learners had a meaningful exposure activity with our partner sikad drivers, connecting classroom learning with real-life experiences.

The activity began with an orientation on business management and financial literacy, helping our partners gain practical knowledge that can support their livelihood.

The learners were also given time to get to know the partners, hear about their experiences, and better understand the value and dignity of their work.

As part of the activity, the students had the opportunity to recognize and appreciate the hard work of the sikad drivers and the important role they play in the community.

The exposure ended with a short program filled with gratitude, sharing, and fellowship.

Through this experience, our Grade 9 learners learned that work is more than just a means of earning a living,it can be a calling from God and an opportunity to serve others and contribute to social transformation.

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧ç𝐨𝐧 - 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Born Pierre Romançon on June 14, 1805 in Thuret, France to a farming family—Pierre was a French De La Salle Christian brother and school teacher. Being far ahead of his classmates in elementary school, he was assigned to be a substitute teacher at only 14 years old and at age 15, he joined the Brothers of the Christian Schools, where he took on the name Brother Benildus.

For the next two decades, he dedicated his time to educating young boys, adults and students who needed additional support throughout the village of Saugues. Brother Benilde was known for his quiet patience, faith, and his belief in every student’s potential. Today, we honor his humility and dedication which continue to inspire teachers and Lasallian educators worldwide.

Happy Feast Day to St. Br. Benilde Romançon, the patron saint of teachers!

Our heartfelt congratulations to our Grade 11 students on the successful conduct of the Urban Agriculture Seminar, held at the La Salle Academy Gym, in partnership with the City Agriculture Office.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our partner community in Pala-o for joining us and actively participating in this meaningful learning experience. Your presence and collaboration made the seminar even more engaging and impactful.

The seminar provided valuable knowledge and practical insights into urban agriculture, promoting sustainable food production, environmental stewardship, and the importance of community partnerships.

Thank you to the City Agriculture Office, our partner community, school administrators, teachers, facilitators, and students for making this activity a success. Together, we continue to cultivate learning, strengthen community engagement, and inspire sustainable practices for a better future.

Today, we celebrate the birthday of our fellow in Lasallian Ministries Office, Mr. Anjelico Miguel Echavez!

We give thanks to God for the gift of your life and for your faithful service to the Lasallian mission. Your dedication inspires our community to provide familial accompaniment to those entrusted to our care and become more committed to living our faith in action.

As you celebrate another year of God's blessings, may the Lord continue to grant you wisdom, strength, good health, and abundant joy as you lead others in building communities of faith, service, and communion.

Happy Birthday, Sir Anjik! May God bless you always, and may St. John Baptist de La Salle continue to intercede for you.

July 31 — Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

He was a soldier before he was a saint.

It took a cannonball shattering his leg, a long recovery, and the lives of the saints read in a hospital bed to turn him around. When he rose from that bed, he was a different man with a different mission.

What followed was not a comfortable conversion. At Manresa he ate once a day, wept over his sins, and spent seven hours a day on his knees. He did not ease into the spiritual life. He entered it completely.

But austerity was never the end. At 33, he began studying again from scratch, begging alms and teaching catechism to the poor along the way. His zeal for souls was not theoretical. It was costly, creative, and relentless.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, who drew from Ignatius in forming his own Institute, wrote:

"Your work will be of little value if you do not have as your purpose the salvation of souls. The more ardently you pray for the good of the souls entrusted to you, the more God will help you find the skill to touch their hearts."

This is the Christian call at its most direct. Whatever we do, it must be animated by genuine care for the person in front of us. Not productivity. Not reputation. Souls.
For those in the Lasallian community, Ignatius is a reminder that great missions do not begin with great resources. They begin with a heart fully turned toward God and toward others.

As part of their community immersion in Digkilaan, our Grade 10 students (Day School and Night High School)worked hand in hand with their foster families by planting vegetable seeds within the foster families’ home lots. More than a gardening activity, this became a meaningful experience that strengthened relationships, encouraged environmental stewardship, and promoted sustainable living.

Today, we proudly witness the fruits of their dedication, patience, and teamwork. These flourishing vegetables are a testament to what can be achieved when learning extends beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community.

Every seed planted represents hope, every harvest reflects perseverance, and every shared effort builds a stronger bond between our students and their foster families.

Together, we continue to cultivate not only gardens but also compassionate hearts and empowered communities. 💚🌿

July 29 — Feast of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus

Bethany was where Jesus came to rest.

Not to preach to crowds, not to perform signs for skeptics, but to sit at table, to be received, to be among friends. The home of Martha, Mary, and Lazarus was one of the few places in the Gospels where Jesus simply belonged (Lk 10:38). And what each of them offered him was different, and all of it was necessary.

Martha served and prepared with everything she had (Lk 10:40). Mary sat at his feet and received his words as the one thing worth being still for (Lk 10:39). And Lazarus loved him so visibly that when he died, Jesus wept (Jn 11:35).

St. John Baptist de La Salle drew from Martha's example and asked:

"Are you as eager for Communion as Saint Martha was to welcome Jesus into her home? Prepare your soul for him ahead of time with great devotion."

When Lazarus died, Martha met Jesus with grief and faith together: "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Jn 11:27). Mary fell at his feet weeping (Jn 11:32). Jesus did not offer a sermon. He wept with them, and then he acted (Jn 11:33-44).

This is what Christians believe: that Jesus is not distant from human sorrow, but enters it. That our service, our contemplation, and our grief are all received with equal tenderness.

For those in the Lasallian community, Bethany is an image worth returning to often. Different gifts, one love. That is what unified this household, and it is what unifies us.
