An inspiring update from Elder Ramel, who is currently at the Manila Training Center.

Elder Ramel shared:

“Well, this week has been so great. For real, I haven't felt homesick yet (like what sister cabangan said back then). I'm really grateful for this opportunity to serve and meet these amazing people. I Testify the work is true and so is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God lives and Loves each one of us which is why, as missionaries we are here to bring this good news that through Christ the Redeemer—We can have eternal life.

Before I end I just want to share a scripture verse in John 3: 16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

May you continue to be guided and strengthened as you prepare and grow in this sacred work. Your Alinguigan Ward family is always praying for your protection, success, and continued growth in the gospel.❤️

In July, the Church will open 55 new missions to accommodate a growing number of missionaries already called. The addition will bring the total number of missions to 506 and allow missionaries to better support the growing number of congregations worldwide.

“What we are witnessing today is more than growth in numbers,” Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said in a May 2026 social post. “Across the world, missionaries are demonstrating a deep devotion to the Savior and a sincere consecration to His work. An increasing number express that their fundamental reason for serving is their love for Jesus Christ and their desire to join Him in His work — an inspiring reflection of the faith and commitment that characterize today’s missionary force.

“As the work goes forward, this is indeed a joyous and marvelous work and a wonder.”

Israel finally stands on the edge of the promised land after generations of waiting, but before them lie real challenges: the Jordan River, the walls of Jericho, and strong nations, as well as the reality of moving forward without Moses. Their journey was not easy, but it was filled with divine assurance and guidance.

This promise brings hope to anyone who feels weighed down by life’s struggles—poverty, uncertainty, disappointment, or even frustration over the challenges in society. For many Filipinos who quietly carry heavy burdens each day, it can sometimes feel like the path forward is unclear or exhausting.

Yet the Lord’s message remains unchanged. Just as He stood with Joshua in difficult battles, He stands with us in ours. He sees every effort to provide for family, every prayer offered in exhaustion, and every quiet act of faith when life feels overwhelming.
