In response to the call for prayer amid growing conflict in the world, we gather in this Taizé vigil to seek God’s gift of peace.

Responding to the call of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines and our Holy Father, the Parishioners of St. Ferdinand Parish come together in a Taizé Prayer Vigil, immersed in silence, gentle chants, and reflection as the Prayer Vigil for World Peace unfolds—offering prayers for healing, reconciliation, and unity as one.🕯️🙏

We pray with one heart, trusting that true peace begins within us and flows into our homes, our communities, and the world.

“In the name of the Poor Clare Sisters of Guibang, I would like to appeal to you for VOLUNTARY DONATION from your parish or from your own pockets for their sustenance.

The monastery treasury office was ransacked Easter Sunday night and huge amount of money was robbed by thieves.

You can give your donations directly to the Poor Clare Sisters when you pass by Guibang or leave them at the Chancery (c/o Gilda). You can also whisper (not announce) to the devotees of St. Clare from your Parish that the Sisters are in dire need. Thank you!”

On Easter Sunday, the celebration of the Resurrection fills the air with joy and renewed hope. The faithful gather as the tradition of Padafun unfolds—an encounter between the Risen Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, signifying the triumph of life over death. As the veil is lifted, emotions arise in silent prayers, reflecting a Mother’s joy at the sight of her Son alive.

In this sacred moment, the community is drawn into deeper reflection on the mystery of the Resurrection. More than a tradition, it stands as a testament to the promise of new life, as hearts are lifted in gratitude and hope, rejoicing in the victory of Christ.

The vigil for the Santo Entierro transforms the church into a place of quiet mourning. Long lines of devotees gather for the pahalik, patiently waiting to kiss or touch the feet of the Dead Christ as a sign of deep faith and reverence.

Throughout the night, the air is filled with the scent of flowers and candles, as the faithful offer silent prayers for forgiveness and strength.

This “holy watch” becomes a moment of personal reflection, where the community remains beside the buried Christ, waiting in hope for the Resurrection.

The Procession of the Santo Entierro is a solemn observance depicting the burial of Jesus Christ. It serves as a time for reflection, penance, and mourning for His death.

The procession also includes other sacred images such as the Mater Dolorosa, Veronica, Señor de la Paciencia, St. Peter the Apostle, and Mary Magdalene.

This sacred tradition calls the faithful to reflect deeply on His boundless love, sacrifice, and the promise of salvation. As we journey through this Holy Week, may we open our hearts, contemplate His suffering, and grow stronger in faith.

As part of the Holy Week observance, the faithful of Ilagan took part in the Stations of the Cross — a solemn pilgrimage that began at IPPO–Baligatan and concluded at the Holy Family Chapel of the Saint Ferdinand Parish.

This Lenten tradition invites devotees to prayerfully retrace the final journey of Jesus Christ to Calvary, pausing at each of the fourteen (14) stations to reflect on His suffering, sacrifice, and boundless love for humanity. It became a meaningful expression of prayer, faith, and reflection for the entire community.
