Text: 1 Juan 3:16 Dito natin nakikilala ang tunay na pag-ibig: inialay ni Cristo ang kanyang buhay para sa atin. Kaya't dapat din nating ialay ang ating buhay para sa kapatiran.
Why is it unconditional love?
1. We are undeserving
Mga Taga-Roma 5:17 Sa pamamagitan ng pagsuway ng isang tao, naghari ang kamatayan. Ngunit sa pamamagitan din ng isang tao, si Jesu-Cristo, ang mga taong pinagpala nang sagana at itinuring na matuwid ng Diyos ay maghahari sa buhay.
2. We are unworthy
Isaias 64:6 Lahat tayo'y naging marumi sa harapan ng Diyos; ang mabubuting gawa nati'y maruruming basahan ang katulad. Nalanta na tayong lahat gaya ng mga dahon; tinatangay tayo ng malakas na hangin ng ating kasamaan.
3. We are unrighteous
Mga Taga-Roma 3:10 Ayon sa nasusulat, “Walang matuwid, wala kahit isa.
- We sinned against God
- We broke God’s command
- We broke God’s heart
* God's radical (unconditional) love is greater than our sins.
* Jesus gave His life for us. He died on the cross.
* He paid the price.
* He gave His body, blood and life.
1 Peter 1:18-19 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of lamb without blemish or spot.
3 WAYS TO PROVE YOUR LOVE TO JESUS
I. SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH HIM.
* Quality-means the degree of excellence of something.
* Quality time ang gustong Diyos na ibigay mo.
Not left-over time (tita-fira) or past time pag wala ka lang magawa o ginagawa)
SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH HIM IN:
A. PRAYER- our communication with God.
"A relationship without communication is a dying relationship."
1 Thessalonians 5:17
"Pray without ceasing.”
* It should be daily communication with God not every other day, weekly, monthly or yearly. Not only when you have emergency or need.
II. OBEY HIM.
* JOHN 14:15 IF YOU LOVE ME, OBEY MY COMMANDS.
"Hindi sapat ang salitang "I love you" dapat nakikita sa gawa. Sapagkat ang tunay na nagmamahal sumusunod.
* Say no to SIN. Say yes to Jesus.
* Choose what is right. Avoid what is wrong.
* Obey and respect God. Obey and respect your leaders.
* Love your neighbor. Love your enemies. Forgive.
* Be like Abraham not Jonah
* Obedience brings blessings every command has a promise.
III. USE YOUR LIFE FOR GOD’S GLORY
* 3T'S (Time, Talent, Treasure)
* God wants to use your life to do His purpose.
Matthew 5:13-16 13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bow. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
INVOLVE YOURSELF IN THE MINISTRY OF GOD. DISCOVER YOUR CALLING. SHARE YOUR TALENT. USE YOUR TALENT FOR GOD'S GLORY.
* ATTEND CHURCH ACTIVITIES
* Your presence is a big support to God's ministry and your pastor.
