✝️ WHY JESUS STILL HAD WOUNDS AFTER THE RESURRECTION. THE SHOCKING TRUTH MANY HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD
____________________
When Jesus rose from the dead…

He did not erase the Cross.

👉 He kept the wounds.

Let that disturb you.

Because if the Resurrection is victory…

👉 Why keep the marks of suffering?

Why not a perfect, untouched body?

Why appear with scars?

✝️ 1. THE RESURRECTION DID NOT CANCEL THE CROSS

When Jesus appeared to the Apostles, He said:

👉 “See my hands and my feet…” (Luke 24:39)
👉 “Put your finger here…” (John 20:27)

This is shocking.

The Cross was not erased.

👉 It was carried into eternity.

The Resurrection is not a denial of suffering.

👉 It is the transformation of suffering.

✝️ 2. THE WOUNDS ARE NOW GLORIFIED

Before the Resurrection:

Wounds meant pain

Wounds meant defeat

Wounds meant death

After the Resurrection:

👉 Wounds mean victory

They are no longer sources of suffering.

👉 They are trophies of love.

Christ did not rise in spite of the wounds.

👉 He rose with them.

✝️ 3. THE WOUNDS ARE HIS IDENTITY

In Heaven, Christ is revealed as:

👉 “A Lamb standing as though slain” (Revelation 5:6)

Not “a Lamb who was slain and forgot.”

👉 A Lamb still marked.

Why?

Because the wounds are not accidents.

👉 They are who He chose to be for us.

He is eternally:

👉 The One who was wounded for love.

✝️ 4. THE WOUNDS ARE EVIDENCE, NOT WEAKNESS

Thomas doubted.

So Jesus did something unexpected:

👉 He did not argue.

👉 He showed wounds.

“Put your finger here…” (John 20:27)

Why?

Because:

👉 The wounds are proof.

Proof He truly died

Proof He truly rose

Proof this is the same Jesus

Not a vision.
Not a ghost.

👉 The Crucified One is the Risen One.

✝️ 5. GOD DOES NOT HIDE HIS SCARS

Here is the part that should shake you:

God could have erased every trace of suffering.

👉 But He chose not to.

Why?

Because:

👉 Love that suffers and saves
is not something God hides.

It is something He reveals forever.

✝️ 6. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

This is not just about Jesus.

👉 It is about you.

Because the Resurrection shows:

Your wounds are not wasted

Your suffering is not meaningless

Your scars are not the end

In Christ:

👉 What wounded you
can be transformed into glory

Not erased…

👉 redeemed.

✝️ FINAL MESSAGE

The world hides scars.

Christ reveals His.

The world sees wounds as shame.

Christ turns them into glory.

So when you see the Risen Jesus…

Do not be surprised by the wounds.

👉 They are the reason you are saved.

Because Heaven will never forget:

👉 Love was nailed.
Love bled.
Love rose… and kept the marks.

✝️ WHY SUNDAY REPLACED THE SABBATH. DID THE CHURCH CHANGE GOD’S LAW?
___________________
For thousands of years, God’s people worshipped on Saturday.

The Sabbath was not optional.

👉 It was commanded by God Himself.

So here is the uncomfortable question:

👉 Why do Christians worship on Sunday instead?
👉 Did the Church change God’s law?

This is where many people get it wrong.

✝️ 1. GOD DID NOT ABOLISH THE SABBATH, HE FULFILLED IT

The Sabbath was about:

👉 Creation

“On the seventh day God rested…” (Genesis 2:2)

But something greater happened.

Jesus died and:

👉 Rested in the tomb on the Sabbath.

Then:

👉 He rose on Sunday.

This is not random.

This is a pattern.

Creation - God rested

Redemption - Christ rested

New Creation - Christ rose

👉 Sunday is not a replacement.

👉 It is the completion of the story.

✝️ 2. THE RESURRECTION CHANGED THE DAY FOREVER 😳

All four Gospels insist on one detail:

👉 “On the first day of the week…”

(Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:2, Luke 24:1, John 20:1)

Why repeat it?

Because that day:

👉 Death was broken
👉 Sin was defeated
👉 A new world began

👉 History split in two.

Sunday is not just a day.

👉 It is the day everything changed.

✝️ 3. THE APOSTLES DID NOT WAIT, THEY MOVED TO SUNDAY

This was not invented centuries later.

The Apostles themselves:

📖 “On the first day of the week… we gathered to break bread” (Acts 20:7)

📖 “On the first day of every week…” (1 Corinthians 16:2)

👉 This is the Eucharist.
👉 This is Sunday worship.

Not later tradition.

👉 Apostolic practice.

✝️ 4. SUNDAY IS THE “EIGHTH DAY” 🔥

The early Church called Sunday:

👉 The Eighth Day

Why?

Because it is not just another day in the cycle.

👉 It breaks the cycle.

7 days = time

8th day = eternity

So every Sunday:

👉 You are stepping into eternal life ahead of time

✝️ 5. THE SABBATH WAS A SHADOW, CHRIST IS THE REALITY 😳

St. Paul says something radical:

👉 “These are a shadow… but the substance belongs to Christ”
(Colossians 2:16–17)

This is serious.

👉 The Sabbath pointed forward.

👉 Christ fulfills it.

So the question is no longer:

“Which day?”

But:

👉 “Who is your rest?”

And the answer is:

👉 Jesus Himself.

✝️ 6. THE EARLY CHURCH CONFIRMS IT

From the very beginning:

👉 St. Ignatius (A.D. 107):
Christians live according to the Lord’s Day

👉 St. Justin Martyr (A.D. 155):
Sunday is the day of Christian worship because of the Resurrection

This is not corruption.

👉 This is continuity.

✝️ FINAL MESSAGE

The Sabbath was holy.

But it was pointing to something greater.

👉 Sunday is not a human invention.

👉 It is the day God revealed the new creation.

ONE LINE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING:

👉 The Sabbath remembered creation…
Sunday reveals a world reborn.

✝️ So when you go to Mass on Sunday…

You are not breaking God’s law.

👉 You are standing inside its fulfillment.

ASH WEDNESDAY

Ash Wednesday comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting, where ashes were worn as a sign of repentance, humility, and conversion. The ashes placed on the head remind us of the dust from which God created us and our complete dependence on Him for life and salvation.

As the priest applies the ashes, he proclaims one of two solemn words: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” or “Repent, and believe in the Gospel.” These sacred words call us to reflect on the reality of our human frailty, the need for repentance, and the invitation to renew our faith in Christ.

It is one of the most important and widely observed days in the Church’s liturgical calendar, taking place forty-six days before Easter Sunday. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a holy season dedicated to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts for the Passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus.

The ashes used on this day are produced by burning the blessed palm branches from the previous year’s Palm Sunday. They serve as a visible symbol of penance, sorrow for sin, and our desire for reconciliation with God, for sin has brought division between humanity and the Lord.

Ash Wednesday is also a day of fasting and abstinence. The faithful are called to practice sacrifice and self-denial as a sign of spiritual discipline and conversion. Those commonly excused from fasting include the elderly, the physically or mentally ill, individuals suffering from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, and pregnant or nursing women.

May this sacred day lead us to sincere repentance, deeper humility, and a renewed commitment to follow God with a purified heart.

MY FAITH NEWS | Obando Church to return DPWH District Engineer Henry Alcantara's vehicle donation.

On a Facebook post, the Parish of San Pascual Baylon and National Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepcion de Salambao announced its decision to return a Nissan Navara pick-up donated by former DPWH 1st District Engineer Henry Alcantara, after reports surfaced linking him to corruption.

The parish explained in a statement that the vehicle, handed over on 1 June 2024, was initially accepted “in good faith” to support the pilgrimage and visitation of the revered image of the Virgin of Salambao to different parishes. The donation was described as a heartfelt gift, with the church emphasizing that it was received “without judgment on the giver’s intentions.”

But in light of the recent reports, the Parish Pastoral Council immediately convened and resolved to return the vehicle “to the rightful person or institution, and through the proper legal process.”

The parish stressed that its decision is in line with the guidance of the Diocese of Malolos and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

“We apologize if this matter has caused concern to the Church and the community,” the statement read. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to justice and to doing what is right.”

Citing the Holy Scripture, the parish concluded its statement with the passage: “Bumuhos nawa ang katarungan na parang agos ng tubig at ang katuwiran na parang ilog na walang tigil.” (Amos 5:24).

The parish council also expressed gratitude to parishioners and members of the public who shared their reminders and suggestions, assuring them that the church continues to uphold integrity in its mission.
