VIVA SEÑOR SAN AGUSTIN! | With grateful hearts, we joyfully celebrated the 146th Patronal Fiesta of Saint Augustine last August 28.

The Misa Concelebrada was presided over by Rev. Msgr. Alvin Linao, Vicar General, together with Rev. Fr. Rodrigo “Boboy” Milo, Jr., Parish Priest, and Rev. Fr. Elpidio “Bebot” Pastera, Jr., Parochial Vicar, along with other visiting clergy who joined us in this joyous celebration.

May Saint Augustine continue to inspire us to seek God, grow in holiness, and live our faith with humility and love.

DEO GRATIAS! | Through the grace of God, the Saint Augustine Parish–Hinatuan rejoices in the Solemn Canonical Installation of Rev. Fr. Rodrigo “Boboy” Milo, Jr. as the new Parish Priest of Hinatuan.

Present during this historic celebration in the life of the Church in Hinatuan was Most Rev. Raul B. Dael, DD, Bishop of Tandag, who served as the Installing Prelate and Homilist, together with the visiting priests.

After Communion, the newly installed Parish Priest expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Parish Pastoral Council, Parish Finance Council, and the lay faithful for their dedicated service and generous efforts in preparing for his Solemn Canonical Installation and the 146th Patronal Celebration in Honor of Saint Augustine of Hippo.

He likewise expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality he has received since his arrival in Hinatuan, as he begins his pastoral ministry among the people entrusted to his care.

MISA RESADA | The Misa Resada tomorrow, August 28, at 5:00 AM, will be presided over by Rev. Fr. Allan Fiel, Parish Priest, Mother of Perpetual Help Parish-Tagbina.

A MOTHER’S LOVE AND PRAYER | On the 8th Day of the Novena Mass in Honor of Saint Augustine of Hippo, Rev. Fr. Rodel Alameda, Diocesan Oeconomus, shared in his homily about the deep love of a mother:

“Ang pag-ampo sa usa ka inahan dili gayud mohunong hangtod makita niya ang iyang anak nga makakita sa kahayag ug magbag-o sa iyang kinabuhi.”

His reflection reminds us of the selfless love of a mother, who never stops praying and hoping for her child. Like Saint Monica, a mother continues to love, wait, and pray, trusting that God’s grace can change her child’s heart and lead him back to the light.

May we never take for granted the love and prayers of our mothers. May we learn from their patience, faith, and unwavering love.

WALK CLOSER TO JESUS | In his homily during the 6th Day of the Novena Mass, Rev. Fr. Jay Jabagaton reminded the faithful to stay close to those who point us toward Jesus and lead us closer to God.

As he said, “Stay close to people who point us to Jesus and lead us home. Recognize those people who have become part of our lives, who bring us closer to our Lord. And allow ourselves to be like Philip, like Saint Ambrose, and like Saint Monica—becoming instruments who lead others closer to God.”

May we be people who bring others closer to Jesus through our faith and witness.
