Recipe for Disaster

Whenever you get lazy and start backing off of your time spent with God, it affects every aspect of your life! It is your constant connection with Him that gives you the wisdom, power, and strength to face each day and without it, you are spiritually dead! It’s like trying to drive a car without any fuel or energy source! Christians know that, but the devil is very cunning and is the expert deceiver. He knows when you are weak and is patient enough to wait until the very moment you are most vulnerable, and then he strikes. It may be when you are physically exhausted, your children have stomped on your last nerve, you can’t pay the bills that are piling up, or an unreasonable boss has just crossed the line! It’s when you are at the breaking point that instead of turning to your Best Friend Jesus, you’re tempted to pull away.

But trying to solve your own problems is a recipe for disaster! Instead of skipping morning devotions because you just “don’t feel like it,” or you’re too discouraged to open God’s Word, drop to your knees and tell the Lord exactly how you feel. Open up and share your heart. Tell God you’re discouraged and weak and how much you need Him! Jesus cares . . . He really cares! The most important part of your day is time spent with Jesus! He will give you the strength, power, and courage to face all the crisis moments in your life and the wisdom to make the right choices!

Dear God, Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God. (Psalm 86:2)

Romans 12:2
"Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature."

Although it could be tempting to try to blend in with everyone else, God loves your uniqueness and faith above all else.

Psalm 37:23-24
"A person's steps are made secure by the Lord when they delight in his way. Though they trip up, they won’t be thrown down, because the Lord holds their hand."

If you walk in God's direction, you'll be led by Him through any difficulties you might come across.

2 Corinthians 12:10
"Therefore, I’m all right with weaknesses, insults, disasters, harassments, and stressful situations for the sake of Christ, because when I’m weak, then I’m strong."

God will give you the strength to endure anything life throws at you.
