Today, we honor two saints who showed how true faith transforms societyโone through righteous leadership, and the other through Catholic education.
โSt. Joseph Calasanz, a pioneer of free, universal education for the poor, St. Joseph Calasanz recognized that the key to uplifting society lay in nurturing the minds and souls of the young. Founding the Piarist Fathers, he dedicated his life to teaching underprivileged children, proving that through education and spiritual formation, Christโs love can break the cycles of poverty and ignorance.
โSt. Louis, King of France known for his profound piety, wisdom, and devotion to justice, King Louis IX ruled not with self-aggrandizement, but as a servant of the King of Kings. He protected the weak, fed the poor daily at his own table, and sought to establish peace and righteousness throughout his realm. His life reminds us that true authority is rooted in humility and faithful stewardship.
โ"To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice." - Proverbs 21:3
