I’m seeing a lot of people who are upset about the destruction of the Jesus statue in Lebanon, which was done by an Israeli soldier. It is offensive, and I’m glad people are upset.

And yet… we should be even more upset that Israeli soldiers continue to destroy precious human beings – in Lebanon, in Iran, in Gaza.

There is nothing more offensive to God than destroying a human life… and that is being done en masse by Israel and the US. We have killed over 75,000 people in Gaza and countless more in Iran and Lebanon.

If you think God is upset about the violence done to a statue of Jesus, you better believe God is outraged by the violence done to real, live, human beings – the true image-bearers of Christ.

Many self-appointing Pastors/Preachers today are deeply focused on criticizing and attacking the Catholic Church. But if we step back and look at history, a serious question comes up:

Why is it that for 2,000 years, countless pastors, leaders, and critics have risen, thousands of them devoted to opposing and trying to tear down the Catholic Church… yet NONE have ever succeeded?🤔

Some spent their whole lives fighting it, yet the Church still stands.💪

Some eventually converted and embraced it.🥰
Some simply faded away, while the Church continued to grow.
So why can’t they destroy the Church?

✅️Because the Catholic Church is not merely a human institution, it is FOUNDED by Jesus Christ Himself.
As Jesus said:
📖 Matthew 16:18: “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Notice that: the gates of hell shall not prevail.
That means no attack whether from outside persecution or internal criticism will ever ultimately destroy the Church.

Also, Jesus promised His constant presence:
📖 Matthew 28:20 “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

If Christ Himself remains with His Church, then no human effort can overcome it.

Even the apostles recognized that what is from God cannot be overthrown:
📖Acts 5:38–39 “If this plan or undertaking is of man, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them.”

For 2,000 years, this truth has been proven.
Empires have risen and fallen. Critics have come and gone. But the Church remains.

So instead of asking “Why are many attacking the Church?”, perhaps the better question is:
“Why does the Church continue to stand, no matter how much it is attacked?”

The answer is simple:
Because it is sustained not by man but by CHRIST Himself.✝️
