𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟑 | 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚

Our Lady of Fatima appeared to three shepherd children; Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta, in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Through her apparitions, the Blessed Virgin Mary called people to prayer, repentance, sacrifice, and conversion of heart. She encouraged the faithful to pray the Holy Rosary every day for peace in the world and for the salvation of souls.

The message of Our Lady of Fatima reminds us of God’s mercy and the importance of living a life centered on faith, prayer, and devotion. Her appearances strengthened the faith of many people and continue to inspire Catholics around the world to trust in God and seek peace through prayer.

Today, Our Lady of Fatima is honored as a symbol of hope, peace, and loving maternal care. May her example lead us closer to Christ and encourage us to live with faith, humility, and compassion.

Today, we celebrate not only the birthday of Bro Liam, but also a young altar server who faithfully serves the Lord with dedication and humility. On this special day, we thank God for the gift of his life and for his commitment to serving at the altar. Through every Mass he serves, Bro Liam shows discipline, reverence, and a sincere love for the Church.

May this birthday be a reminder of how much his service means to the community and how his faith continues to grow each year. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (John 10:11).

Fourth Sunday of Easter is known as Good Shepherd Sunday, when we hear again the voice of Christ who calls, leads, and lays down his life for his flock.

On this same day, the Church celebrates the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We ask the Lord to stir the hearts of our young people, that they may listen with openness and respond with generosity to his call.

We pray for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, and also for the vocation to married life and family. These are not separate paths competing with each other, but different ways of living one Christian vocation: the call to holiness and love in Christ.

May every person discover where the Lord is calling them, and have the courage to say yes.

Alleluia! Christ is risen! Today, we celebrate the ultimate victory of life over death, hope over despair, and love over sin. Easter Sunday is the fulfillment of God’s promise, the glorious day when Jesus rose from the tomb, bringing joy, redemption, and eternal hope to the world. This day invites us to rejoice, renew our faith, and embrace the transforming power of the Resurrection. Just as the stone was rolled away, may our hearts be freed from fear, doubt, and sorrow, and may we walk in the light of Christ’s love.

Black Saturday, the quietest day of Holy Week, reminds us of the time Jesus spent in the tomb—a day of stillness, reflection, and anticipation. Though the world seems silent, God’s plan of salvation is unfolding, and the promise of resurrection is near.

This day invites us to pause and examine our hearts, letting go of fear, doubt, and sin, and preparing ourselves for the joy and triumph of Easter. It is a moment to trust in God’s timing, embrace His mercy, and hold fast to hope, even in moments of darkness.

May Black Saturday inspire us to wait patiently, reflect deeply, and prepare our hearts for the glory of the Risen Christ, who brings light, life, and redemption to all.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟕 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭

On Good Friday, as Jesus hung on the Cross, He spoke seven profound phrases that reveal His boundless love, mercy, and trust in God. Each word is a gift for our reflection and a call to live with faith:

1. “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) – Even in suffering, Jesus prayed for forgiveness for those who wronged Him. May we also embrace forgiveness and mercy in our lives.

2. “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) – Jesus offers hope and eternal life, reminding us that salvation is always within reach for those who believe.

3. “Woman, behold your son… Behold your mother.” (John 19:26-27) – Even in pain, He cared for others, showing the importance of love, family, and compassion.

4. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46) – A cry of suffering that connects our human pain with His, reminding us that God understands our struggles.

5. “I thirst.” (John 19:28) – Jesus’ humanity shines through, showing us that even the Son of God experienced physical and spiritual needs, teaching us humility.

6.“It is finished.” (John 19:30) – The work of salvation was accomplished. Through His sacrifice, the path to redemption and reconciliation was opened for all.

7.“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46) – With complete trust, Jesus surrendered His life to God, showing us the power of faith, surrender, and hope.

As we meditate on these words this Good Friday, let us open our hearts to forgiveness, compassion, and trust in God, walking in the footsteps of Jesus and embracing His love that conquers sin and death.

The altar servers of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish solemnly began their walk toward the location of the Sto. Entierro, marking a meaningful step in the sacred preparations for the Good Friday procession. With hearts full of reverence and devotion, they journeyed together in silence and prayer, reflecting on the passion, suffering, and ultimate sacrifice of Christ. Each step they took symbolized their commitment to serve and to accompany the Lord in His final moments, uniting as one community in faith and solemn remembrance. This quiet procession not only prepared the physical path for the evening rites but also deepened their spiritual connection to the significance of Good Friday.
