CFC Youth for Christ is the youth arm of Couples for Christ (CFC) - a pontifical catholic christian movement officially recognized by the Vatican intended for the renewal and strengthening of christian family life. Inc. CFC as a Catholic Charismatic Lay movement and an International Association of the Faithful of Pontifical Right officially recognized by The Holy See, is filled with the vibrancy and conviction of the Spirit, eager to answer the call to do one thing —spread the love of Jesus Christ. PHILOSOPHY
We in CFC Youth for Christ believe,
• That God is calling everyone to a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ,
• That this call is not exclusive, but shared with all sectors of society, regardless of age, color, nationality, status and beliefs in life;
• That the youth have a very special place in God’s heart, and that they in return have a very deep sense of love of God, and that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is something that they desire,
• That the youth have a vibrant, energetic, dynamic and free-spirited nature rather than denying this nature and forcing the youth into a mold that satisfies our own perception of Christianity and holiness. We accept their nature, not curtailing it, but re-channeling it into an active expression of submission to and participation in the plan of God,
• That the youth who detached themselves from God have not done so just because of their own liking or plan, but also because of societal deficiencies in family life, education and government structures;
• That the youth are full of ideas and are blessed by the Lord with talents, that the youth are in need of friends and role models, and therefore should be given the opportunity to develop these skills and relationships in a healthy Christian environment;
• That the youth realize the need to make decisions in life; but they should also know that as they do so, God should always be an inseparable part of these decisions knowing also that they are future leaders of families and societies, we realize that their future depends on how they are molded today as God’s children;
• That the youth are responsible as long as they are given the appropriate amount of guidance, trust and loving care,
• That the youth grow not only from what they receive, but more through with what they are able to share with others,
• That the youth are at the forefront of a spiritual battle and that the evil one knows just as much, that the deception by the evil one, intended to confuse, mislead, and even initiate the youth into his evil plans, comes in the form of day to day experiences in family life,school, society, relationships, values and practices, music, language and ideals;
• But we also believe that as the plan of God unfolds, there is nothing and no one that can separate us from His love in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). His love is our source of wisdom and His life becomes our model in helping build this present and future life for the youth.
• Our Philosophy is a statement of victory for Christ’s youth. It is a declaration of active submission to the will of God – primarily believing that the true purpose in life is to serve God above all things. PROGRAMS
Youth For Christ seeks to share Christ with anyone and everyone and has thus created different programs which cater to the various youth categories. CFC-YFC Community Based: Renewal in Christ through raising faith communities
A program that is grounded within different kinds of communities such as villages, subdivisions, barangays, and parishes. CFC-YFC High School Based: Bringing God’s High to the Schools
This program deals with the youth in both private and public high schools, but also reaches out to the school administration, faculty, and moderators. CFC-YFC Campus Based: A Renewed and United Society in Christ Through the Campuses
A program which interacts with the more mature individuals in the YFC age spectrum. It is composed of all admin, faculty, staff, parents, and college students in universities and colleges. CFC-YFC TORCH: Towards Renewal in Christ
This program serves as the identity program of the sons and daughters of the CFC Mission Core Group Members, it's a venue preparing the youth to share the torch of leadership of their parents to continue the mission, as it is handed from their parent’s generation to theirs. CFC-YFC YCOM: How can they hear if the message is not proclaimed? Rom.10:14
This is the official communication arm of YFC and its tasked to assist the YFC Ministry in doing the evangelization in a more creative manner. PRINCIPLES OF 4 F'S
Youth for Christ is guided by the principle of 4 F’s: Fun, Friendship, Faith, Freedom
FUN: Being young means having fun. YFC promotes and supports the dynamism of the youth’s thirst to enjoy life by empowering them to live it to the fullest. YFC encourages fun—good, clean fun. FRIENDSHIP: This is the time of their lives when the youth begin to form lasting relationships with their peers. YFC encourages friendship among young people, enabling them to see God in each and every individual they encounter. The community allows the youth to experience new things, to learn, and to grow with friends. FREEDOM: One can barely contain the enthusiasm of a spirit. Within the YFC community, the youth experience freedom from sins, from insecurities, and from difficulties in the past, as well as the freedom to express love and to become the individuals whom God meant them to be. FAITH: None of the three can be fully experienced without faith in God. In YFC, the youth are taught the Catholic faith that they may better appreciate the abundant blessings they receive in their lives.
7 IDENTITIES
Our YFC Identity is our oneness and commonness as brothers and sisters in YFC. Yet each of us has our own uniqueness which also emanates from God as individuals and as one body anchored on the image and likeness of God. Here in YFC, our ultimate goal is to bring the youth to Christ. We believe that our true and ultimate destiny is that we are sons and daughters of God. Our identity is the result of our innate and core values that we in YFC want to live by. A Missionary. The deepest desire of my heart is to proclaim His glory. God calls me to evangelize His word. And I will walk till the ends of the earth to make Him known. I will be the strength of my brothers and sisters. I will be patient to those who have no time to listen. I will help them carry their cross even if I’m already struggling for my own. A Model of Excellence. Cheating is not worth my reputation. I strive for finesse. I aim for excellence and I work for it. I am disciplined focus and driven. I fight ignorance and seek for knowledge. I explore all my capabilities and maximize my potentials. I believe that this world is full of hidden mysteries waiting for my discovery. I am fated to succeed in my chosen field. I excel in my studies but remains outstanding in my service. I use my talents and skills to serve my Master. I give Him back the glory. I will forever be His instrument. Champion of the Poor. A Patriot. I am proud of my race and nationality. I love my country for I know this is where my God wants me to celebrate His glory. I refuse to blame the government for its current situation. I am part of the problem and so as the solution. I strive to contribute something to make it a better place. I work for the betterment of my fellowmen. I shield them from abuse and discrimination.
