Jesus knows our needs and can provide in unexpected ways. He also teaches us humility and obedience.

IMPORTANT TRUTHS
1. Jesus Knows Everything
Before Peter even explained the situation, Jesus already knew about it.

Application: Jesus knows our worries, needs, and problems before we tell Him.

2. Jesus Provides for Our Needs
Jesus used a miracle to provide the money.

Application: God can provide through unexpected people, situations, or blessings.

3. Obedience Brings Blessings
Peter obeyed Jesus immediately.

Application: Even when God’s instruction seems unusual, we should obey Him.

4. Choose Peace and Humility
Jesus chose not to argue about the tax.

Application: Sometimes we give up our rights to show love and peace to others.

A fun and meaningful activity that reminds the youth that just as Jesus Christ provided through the fish for Peter, we can trust God to provide for our needs in unexpected ways. Each participant also gave their fish to someone else as a symbol of helping, sharing, and being a blessing to one another.

If, for example, you were a fish, what kind of fish would you be and why?

Read the youngsters' answers and think about what kind of fish you would like to be too.

This activity reminds us of the story in Matthew 17:24-27, where the Lord Jesus Christ used a fish as an instrument of His provision for Peter and Himself to pay the temple tax. It teaches us that God can use anything and anyone to fulfill His purpose and provide for our needs.
