Dear Parishioners,
Today marks my first anniversary as your parish priest.
When I took over the parish,
I chose not to dissolve and then establish new councils, immediately,
even if these councils of
PPC, PCC, PFC & PYCC,
are co-terminus with the previous pastor.
This is my reason:
i want to take time to observe the current parish structure & leadership dynamics,
and, then, evaluate what necessary changes to make,
for better & effective pastoral ministry.
After the 1 year period of observation, absorption & reflection, I have decided that it is now time to form our new parish councils.
Church law allows these councils to be formed either through appointment by the parish priest or thru election.
For guidance, I reviewed the Code of Canon Law and consulted our Canon Lawyer, Msgr. Rey Monsanto,
before coming to this decision.
Thus, sooner, we will be transitioning to a "new set" of council officers & leadership,
under my mandate.
Certain apostolates and ministries,
such as the BEC, CFLA, Chapel Leaders, and most notably, the Finance Council,
will be directly appointed by me: the parish priest.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the current officers of our parish, for their selfless service and sacrifices for the good of our community.
Kindly remain in your posts and continue your duties until the formal announcement of the new parish officers.
God willing, in two week time,
I will announce some of the new officers & members of the councils and other core apostolates.
Once again, thank you very much to all of you, and may God bless our parish.
