My Dear Parishioners,

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our church leaders who tirelessly gave their precious time and effort to serve our parish and parishoners. Your dedication and generosity are deeply appreciated and will always leave a positive mark on our community.

Let us welcome our new church leaders with the same warmth, kindness, and cooperation. For indeed, true service is not an act of a few, but a continuous and united effort of all involved. May God bless our new leaders with the foresight, energy, and willingness to carry out their duties for the good of the parish.

The journey continues, mga higala! ❤️💙💛

On May 31, 2026, the VYD Cross was officially handed over by the youth of Holy Cross Parish, Alubijid, Misamis Oriental to Sto. Niño Parish, Gitagum, Misamis Oriental. Youth leaders and participants of the upcoming Vicariate Youth Day 2026 warmly received the VYD Cross, carrying with it the spirit of faith, unity, and hope as it continues its pilgrimage across the vicariate.

Through prayer and fellowship, the community gathered as one in welcoming this sacred symbol of Christ's love and sacrifice. The visitation served as a reminder that Christ walks with His people and calls the youth to remain steadfast in faith and active in mission.

As the VYD Cross continues its pilgrimage across the vicariate, may it inspire every young person to deepen their faith, strengthen their relationship with Christ, and joyfully answer His call to mission. May this journey prepare our hearts for Vicariate Youth Day 2026 as we continue living in Christ and renewed by mercy.

May 31, 2026 | Flores de Mayo Culmination 💐

As we conclude our Flores de Mayo celebration, a beautiful tradition honoring our Blessed Virgin Mary, whose love, humility, and faith continue to inspire us all, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to all the children, parents, our dedicated catechist, and everyone who helped make this event a success.

May our Blessed Virgin Mary continue to guide us in faith, love, and service. Thank you for making this celebration a beautiful tribute to Our Lady.

Viva la Virgen Maria! 🌹🙏

Dear Parishioners,
Today marks my first anniversary as your parish priest.

When I took over the parish,
I chose not to dissolve and then establish new councils, immediately,
even if these councils of
PPC, PCC, PFC & PYCC,
are co-terminus with the previous pastor.

This is my reason:
i want to take time to observe the current parish structure & leadership dynamics,
and, then, evaluate what necessary changes to make,
for better & effective pastoral ministry.

After the 1 year period of observation, absorption & reflection, I have decided that it is now time to form our new parish councils.

Church law allows these councils to be formed either through appointment by the parish priest or thru election.

For guidance, I reviewed the Code of Canon Law and consulted our Canon Lawyer, Msgr. Rey Monsanto,
before coming to this decision.

Thus, sooner, we will be transitioning to a "new set" of council officers & leadership,
under my mandate.

Certain apostolates and ministries,
such as the BEC, CFLA, Chapel Leaders, and most notably, the Finance Council,
will be directly appointed by me: the parish priest.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the current officers of our parish, for their selfless service and sacrifices for the good of our community.
Kindly remain in your posts and continue your duties until the formal announcement of the new parish officers.

God willing, in two week time,
I will announce some of the new officers & members of the councils and other core apostolates.

Once again, thank you very much to all of you, and may God bless our parish.

My dear Parishioners,

With hearts full of joy, with the grace of Our Lord , we have concluded the conduct of the Medical Mission in Barangay G-Pelaez, Gitagum.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Barangay G. Pelaez Officials of Gitagum, the Philippine National Police, Barangay Police, our parishioners and volunteers, parish and chapel leaders, the working committee, food committee, transportation committee, and all those who prepared the venue and quietly worked behind the scenes.
Your efforts, sacrifices, and willingness to help greatly contributed to the success of the mission.

Above all, we give thanks to our Lord God who guided, strengthened, and united us throughout this meaningful undertaking. The success of our Medical Mission became possible because each one faithfully played his or her role.

“Lahi-lahi ang buluhaton, apan usa ra ang misyon — ang pag-alagad ug pag-ayo sa mga tawo.”

May God bless you all abundantly with every grace you need in life. May you continue to serve others with the love, compassion, and mercy of God.

With grateful heart,

Fr. Ongong Magracia
Parish Priest
