“LETS TALK ABOUT CHURCH CORRUPTION”
Church corruption is a hard topic to talk about, but it is also something that needs to be discussed.
Throughout history, even in the Bible, we will see that even the people called by God err when power, pride, and personal interest come before Christ.
The problem is not the Church itself. The problem is when the Church forgets why it existed.
What is Church Corruption?
It's not all about the money.
Church corruption happens when spiritual authority is used for control instead of care, image instead of integrity, at self-interest instead of service.
This happens when:
- Power is prioritized over service
- Position is more important than calling
- Image is protected rather than reality
- Control is used rather than compassion
- Personal ambition replaces God's mission
When ministry is about influence, no longer caring for souls, that's where corruption begins.
Warning From The Bible
Jesus wasn't silent about religious corruption.
“You are like bleached graves—beautiful on the outside, but full of dirt on the inside. ” (Matthew 23:27)
They are religious, active in the ministry, but lack humility and righteousness. This is a reminder to us that not everything that looks holy is truly spiritual.
Why Corruption Happens in the Church?
1. No accountability – No one checks, no one corrects.
2. Personality-centered leadership – Leader is more popular than Christ.
3. Fear-based system - People follow out of fear, not out of love.
4. Compromise of truth - Just be quiet so "there will be no disturbance. ”
When correction is called rebellion, and transparency is called disloyalty, corruption will grow.
What Damage Does This Cause?
- People are losing faith in the Church
- Many young people are turning away from faith
- Innocents are getting hurt
- Protecting the wrong, not the right
And most of all, God is being named the wrong way.
God's Heart For His Church
Even in corruption, God has not forsaken His Church.
“Judgement begins in the household of God. ” (1 Peter 4:17)
This is not to destroy the Church but to clean it up and restore it. What God wants is:
- Shepherds, hindi celebrities
- Servants, hindi controllers
- Humility, not branding
- Faithfulness, hindi fame
The Call of Our Time
The solution to church corruption is not to go away from Church but to come back to Christ.
Let's go back:
- In The Word Of God
- In true discipleship, not just attendance
- His servant leadership
- In the truth with love
- In repentance, not image management

The Church doesn't need better marketing.
It takes the fear of God.
No need for stricter control.
This needs a real transformation.
May we not use God's name to build our own kingdom.
Rather, let's be a Church that reflects Christ, not tarnishes His name.
