Kauban ang atong Guest Speaker nga si Rev. Vincent Roy del Sol, C.P., moduyog kita isip usa ka parokya sa pamalandong sa panahon sa Adbiyento. Kini pagahimuon sa sulod sa atong simbahan. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our Provincial Superior, V. REV. FR. LOUIE YEE FUENTESPINA, CP of the Sorrowful Mother.

Born: April 12, 1967
Professed: May 2, 1994
Ordained: February 4, 1998
Died: November 8, 2022

Thank you Fr. Louie for your faithful ministry as a servant and priest of God in the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ. Rest in God, Father Louie!

The Wake Masses will be held at HOLY CROSS SPIRITUAL CENTER, Calumpang, General Santos City with the following schedules:
Nov. 9, 2022 - 6:00 PM
Nov. 10-13, 2022 - 8:00 PM

Funeral Mass will be held at HOLY CROSS PARISH, Calumpang, General Santos City on Nov. 14, 2022 at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Passionist Cemetery.

THE CATHOLIC HALLOWEEN

The word Halloween comes from the traditional Catholic feast “All Hallow’s Eve,” referring to the Solemnity of All Saints.

We Catholics shouldn’t celebrate the satanic side of the modern celebration. Instead of not giving out any candy, we should instead provide treats and say “God bless you” to the children who we meet. As educated Catholics and Catholics who live according to its essence, let us change the impression of the celebration to the people who do it with the theme centered in satanic and demonic looks and costume.

Praise the kids who dress like saints and to those who dress like the evil, tell them “Something tells me you’re a good kid and wouldn’t do the devil’s works.” Or, if someone is dressed as a ghost, you could say, “What’s really great is that we have good angels and saints watching over us.”

Let us also teach those kids that they should be angels and saints and not devils.

Let us stop the wrong habit. Let us not teach our kids to fear our dead loved ones.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, we have a dream: building our new parish convent and offices. In fact, we have already started the construction.
We are doing this in order to free some areas of our surroundings for our needed parish grounds, allowing greater ventilation inside our place of worship, accommodating bigger pastoral activities and giving more convenience to our parish services.
Be part of this dream! Be part of the concert-for-a-cause entitled Memoria: Celebrating the Living Memories of Our Parish this coming November 12, 6:30 PM at KCC Mall Convention Center, GSC. Passionist Priests, Passionist Sisters and other selected talents of our parish shall make this night a memorable one. Make yourself, your family or your company a sponsor of this joyful event and share your blessings. Your generosity will surely meet our construction needs.
To date, we have the South Cotabato Integrated Port Services, Incorporated (SCIPSI) and the Knights of Columbus (K of C) as co-presentors of this concert. You too can be our major or minor sponsors. Novena to St. Paul of the Cross - Founder of the Passionists
Day 7 The HOLY SUFFERING of Paul of the Cross

When, through inner struggles, a person succeeds in accepting concrete, unavoidable suffering as the will of God and sees in it the possibility of participating in the passion of Jesus, it does not mean that pain and sorrow are taken away. Although the pain must be borne, it is no longer senseless, and God's grace can work to transform the suffering so that the sufferer "rejoices in sorrow and exults in grieving love".

Almighty God,
Father of mercies
and giver of all good gifts,
we come before you
to honor you in your saints
and to ask their help
in our many needs.
You promised those who ask,
would receive;
those who seek,
would find;
those who knock,
would have doors opened to them.
Hear the prayers of your church,
grant our requests,
and pardon our sins.

(Pray your requests to God)

O good Saint Paul of the Cross,
you proclaimed God's wonders
in the Passion of God's only Son.
By word and deed,
you became a spiritual guide
and preacher of the gospel
to a world grown cold
to the love of Jesus Christ.
Help me to see God's love
in the merciful cross of Jesus,
and teach me to trust
in the blessings God gives.
May the Passion of Jesus

Novena to St. Paul of the Cross - Founder of the Passionists
Day 3 The KENOSIS of St. Paul of the Cross

Today, as in the time of Paul, human beings find their own personal happiness when they search for their identity in the light of God, when, to use the words of the saint, they allow their "nothingness to sink into God". Only in the acceptance of this basic religious attitude can we truly find ourselves.

Novena Prayer:
O glorious Saint Paul of the Cross,
on earth you were a mirror of innocence
and a model of penance!
O hero of saintliness,
chosen by God to meditate day and night
on the bitter Passion of His only-begotten Son,
and to spread devotion thereto by word and deed
as well as by means of thy religious family!
O Apostle, mighty in word and work,
you did spend our life in bringing back to the foot of the Cross
the erring souls of countless unfortunate sinners!
Mercifully look down once more from heaven upon my poor soul
and hear my petitions.
Obtain for me so great a love of Jesus suffering,
that by constant meditation on His Passion
I may make His sufferings mine.
Let me realize in the deep Wounds of my Savior
the wickedness of my transgressions,
and obtain from them,
as from the fountain of salvation,
the grace of bitter tears
and an effectual resolution to imitate you in your penance,
if I have not followed your example of innocence.
Obtain for me, also, Saint Paul,
the favor that I now especially ask of you,
