SERMON SERIES: LEAD LAST

Leadership is not about titles, rankings, or positions. It's not about awards, certificates, or recognition.

Jesus Christ, called the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, challenged His disciples to lead last. Even more than that, He modeled what it meant by defining leadership as serving others, even if it seems less impressive in the eyes of others.

Together, let us see how Christlike leadership advances God's kingdom in every sector of society, from generation to generation.

At the beginning and middle of every year, we come together as a church to seek God through prayer and fasting.

We believe that God’s heart has always been to reconcile the world to Himself, and He is calling us to actively participate in this mission.

As His people, set apart for His purpose, let us reflect on and live out a life of holiness centered on Jesus Christ.

Unshaken in Love

Even as the city continues to experience recurring aftershocks, Victory General Santos remains steadfast in responding with love, mercy, and compassion.

Through the Love the City initiative, our pastors, staff, and volunteers continued to reach some of the most affected areas, serving families who remain in urgent need of help, prayer, and encouragement.

Love Went to the Vulnerable

Our teams reached some of the most marginalized and vulnerable communities, bringing not only relief goods but also prayer, encouragement, and the hope that comes from God.

As many families have lost the roofs over their heads, the teams also brought trapal to serve as temporary shelter, along with water and diapers for young children.

More than the packs distributed, every visit became an opportunity to remind families that they are not forgotten, that God is near, and that hope remains even in the midst of uncertainty.

Love in Every Pack

Through the generosity of our donors and the faithful service of our volunteers, we were able to distribute a total of 398 Love the City packs to the following areas:

General Santos City
Carcon and Skwala
238 packs

Malapatan, Sarangani Province
100 packs

Glan, Sarangani Province
60 packs

Total Distributed:
398 packs

Strong in Hope
We continue to believe that even when the ground keeps shaking, our hope in the Lord remains firm. He strengthens the weary, comforts the brokenhearted, and sustains those who continue to stand, serve, and rebuild.

“Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.”
Psalm 31:24

Daghang salamat sa inyong padayon nga paghatag, pag-ampo, ug pagserbisyo as we continue to love the city and beyond.

Loving the City and Beyond

Victory General Santos continues to extend the Love the City initiative to more families and communities affected by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

On June 13, our teams went to serve affected families in Nopol, General Santos City; Malapatan, Sarangani Province; and the municipality of Glan, Sarangani Province, particularly in Poblacion Glan and Calabanit, Glan.

Where the Roads Were Broken, Love Found a Way

Glan, once known as a peaceful tourist town with pristine beaches and beautiful coastal communities, is now bearing the heavy marks of devastation. After the earthquake, several roads became almost impassable, making it extremely difficult to reach communities in need.

Unlike some areas in General Santos City, many houses in Glan fell to the ground. Families are grieving the loss of lives, living without electricity, and struggling with limited access to safe drinking water. With heavy rains causing landslides and many families left without roofs over their heads, the situation has become even more urgent.

Yet even in these difficult conditions, our teams went by God’s grace. They personally reached these devastated communities to bring relief goods, clean water, encouragement, and prayer to families who are fighting through fear, loss, and uncertainty.

For many families in the areas reached in Glan, this was the first help they had received since the earthquake. They expressed deep gratitude for the relief goods, clean water, and prayers shared with them in a time of great need.

Love on the Ground

Through the generosity of our donors and the service of our pastors, staff, volunteers, and families, we were able to distribute the following:

Nopol, General Santos City
113 relief packs

Malapatan, Sarangani Province
50 relief packs and 50 gallons of water

Poblacion Glan, Sarangani Province
51 relief packs and 51 gallons of water

Calabanit, Glan, Sarangani Province
87 relief packs and 87 gallons of water

More than the relief goods and water, our teams came to remind the people that they are not forgotten. We prayed with families, listened to their stories, and shared the love of God in a tangible way.

God Is Our Help and Shield

In moments of great need, we hold fast to the truth that God is near. He remains sovereign over what has been shaken, faithful to sustain those who are hurting, and present with every family facing loss and uncertainty.

“We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.”
Psalm 33:20

To every person, family, and partner who has made this work possible, thank you for standing with the hurting and helping carry hope to places that need it most.

May our city and neighboring communities continue to experience the love, comfort, and faithfulness of Christ as we love the city and beyond, together.

Hello Victory Gensan Family!

Many of us have felt shaken and concerned in light of the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake we experienced last Monday, June 8. Yet even in moments like these, we are reminded that God remains faithful, present, and unshaken. We continue to pray for everyone’s safety and well-being.

After careful consideration and in coordination with the proper authorities, we would like to inform you that our worship services will resume as scheduled. Our facility has already been inspected by the Office of the Building Official (OBO) and has been assessed for occupancy. Hence, we invite you to join in any of our Worship Services tomorrow, June 14.

Let us gather for a time of worship, prayer, and encouragement for one another. In times when the ground beneath us feels uncertain, gathering with God's people reminds us of the unchanging hope we have in Christ.

We look forward to gathering in worship and encouraging one another during this time.

See you tomorrow!

Loving the City Through Service

Today, Victory General Santos, led by our pastors and staff, together with volunteers from different families and generations, continued our Love the City efforts for those affected by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

After the repacking of relief goods, our teams went to several heavily affected communities, including Hicban, Labangal, Calumpang, Malapatan, and Tinago.

Loving the City by Seeing the Need

As our teams went around the city and nearby communities, they saw the painful impact of the earthquake. Essential establishments had collapsed, homes were destroyed, and many families are now living amid the rubble, carrying the weight of loss, fear, and uncertainty.

In one coastal area, the team saw homes that had collapsed and belongings that had been swept away by the ocean. Families who had nowhere else to go were trying to gather whatever was left from the rubble. Many of them expressed their gratitude that the church came to reach out, especially since some shared that they had not yet received help.

Yet even in the midst of what has been shaken, we hold fast to the truth that God remains sovereign. He is not distant from our pain. He is present with those who grieve, near to those who are afraid, and faithful to sustain every family in this difficult season.

Loving the City Through Prayer and Hope

More than bringing relief goods, our teams went to pray with those who are hurting, encourage those who are weary, and bring hope to families facing difficult days ahead. Through the generous donations of our partners, we were able to meet people where they are and share the love of God in a tangible way.

Many of those who received the donations expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the blessings they received and for being prayed for during these uncertain times. In every conversation, every prayer, and every family served, we were reminded that because Christ is sovereign, we can respond with faith, compassion, and hope.

Loving the City Together

Thank you to everyone who gave, prayed, packed, served, and went. Your generosity is bringing hope to our city and neighboring communities.

Together, let us continue to pray, give, serve, and love our city, trusting that the God who holds all things together will strengthen us to rise, rebuild, and stand again.

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”
Psalm 145:18
