15Apan wala ko pahimusli ang maong katungod. Ug wala usab ako magsulat karon sa pagpamasin nga hatagan ninyo. Maayo pa nga mamatay na lang ako kaysa himuon ko kini. Sigurohon ko nga walay bisan kinsa nga makakuha niining akong gipasigarbo.[c] 16 Wala ko ipasigarbo ang akong pagwali sa Maayong Balita, kay mao kini ang akong katungdanan. Dili mahimo nga dili ko kini buhaton tungod kay alaot ako kon dili ko iwali ang Maayong Balita. 17 Kon nagwali ako tungod kay mao kini ang akong gipili nga trabaho, magpaabot unta ako ug suhol. Apan ang tinuod, gituman ko lang ang akong katungdanan nga magwali tungod kay mao kini ang gitugyan kanako sa Dios. 18 Unsa karon ang balos nga akong mapaabot? Ang giisip ko nga balos mao ang kalipay nga sa akong pagwali sa Maayong Balita wala ako magpasuhol, bisan tuod ug may katungod ako nga magpasuhol sa akong paghago sa pagsangyaw sa Maayong Balita.

Today's prayer..

Our Shepherd, our Lord! We heed your command, and by your grace we pray you help us love those around us, our neighbors and our family. Grant us the ability to open our hearts to them, as you in turn, have opened your heart and everlasting arms to us. I ask all this Lord, so that we may better do your work and praise you name. Hosanna in the Highest, Amen.

Acknowledge the Church in Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11)

- Jesus addresses the church in Smyrna, a city known for its persecution of Christians
- He commends them for their faithfulness and endurance in the face of suffering and poverty
- Jesus their tribulation and poverty, but encourages them to be faithful unto death
- He promises them a crown of life, and protection from the second death

- "I know your afflictions and your poverty (but you are rich)..."

Smyrna was a city that was fiercely loyal to Rome, and Christians were persecuted and marginalized. The church in Smyrna faced intense suffering, poverty, and imprisonment.

Application:
- Are you facing persecution or hardship for your faith? Jesus knows your struggles and encourages you to be faithful.
- Are you feeling poor or lacking in some way? Jesus says you are rich in Him.
- Are you tempted to give up? Jesus promises a crown of life if you remain faithful unto death.

"Open Doors and Faithful Living"

Revelation 3:7-13

In the ancient city of Philadelphia, there was a church that was faithful, persevering, and evangelistic. Jesus commends them for their works and promises them an open door, protection from trial, and a crown of victory. Let's explore this passage and apply it to our lives.

*I. The Church in Philadelphia (v. 7-8)*

- Jesus commends the church for their faithfulness and perseverance
- They have kept His word and have not denied His name
- They have a small strength, but have been faithful

*II. The Open Door (v. 8)*

- Jesus has set before them an open door, and no one can shut it
- This open door represents opportunities for ministry, evangelism, and service
- We too have open doors, but we must walk through them

*III. The Promise of Protection (v. 10-11)*

- Jesus promises to keep them from the hour of trial
- He will come quickly, and they must hold fast to their faith
- We too can have confidence in Jesus' protection and return

*IV. The Crown of Victory (v. 12-13)*

- Jesus promises to make them pillars in the temple of God
- They will be given a new name, and will be identified as belonging to God
- We too can have a crown of victory, if we remain faithful

*Application:*

- Are you walking through the open doors that Jesus has provided?
- Are you holding fast to your faith, even in the face of trials and challenges?
- Remember, Jesus is coming quickly - be prepared!

*Conclusion:*
Let's be like the church in Philadelphia, faithful, persevering, and evangelistic. Let's walk through the open doors that Jesus has provided, and hold fast to our faith. For Jesus is coming quickly, and we must be prepared.

*Call to Action:*

- Repent and turn back to God, if you've drifted away
- Walk through the open doors that Jesus has provided
- Hold fast to your faith, and encourage others to do the same
