Title: "Living as a Family: The Call to Accountability in Christ"
Magandang araw sa inyong lahat! Today, I want to remind us of an essential truth about our Christian life: being a Christian means being accountable to one another and it also means being part of a family. As followers of Christ, we’re not just isolated individuals who happen to share the same faith. We are a community—a family—where accountability is crucial for our growth and for glorifying God in everything we do.
1. Christian Accountability:
Accountability is not just about correcting each other when we go astray, but it’s also about helping one another grow and stay faithful in our walk with the Lord. We were never meant to walk alone in our faith journey.
In Proverbs 27:17, it says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Ang ibig sabihin nito, tayo bilang mga Kristiyano ay dapat magtulungan. We are here to sharpen each other’s faith, encourage one another, and sometimes, correct each other—pero in love. Accountability is not just about pointing out flaws but about building one another up in truth and love.
2. We are Family:
In 1 Corinthians 12:25-27, Paul writes, “There should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
Dahil tayo ay bahagi ng katawan ni Cristo, we are all deeply interconnected. Kung may isang miyembro ng katawan ang nasaktan, ang buong katawan ay apektado. Kung meron namang nagtatagumpay, tayo’y natutuwa at nagsasama-sama sa saya. We are not just accountable to each other in terms of our actions, but we are also responsible for caring for each other as part of God’s family.
3. The Importance of Mutual Accountability in the Family of God:
Sabi sa Galatians 6:1-2, “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Ang pagiging bahagi ng pamilya ni Cristo ay nangangahulugang may responsibilidad tayong magtulungan. Kung may nagkakamali, hindi natin siya itatapon. Instead, we gently restore them. Accountability means we carry each other’s burdens—at ang mga bigat na iyon, binibigyan tayo ng pagkakataon na magpakita ng pagmamahal at malasakit.
So, mga kapatid, let's remember that being a Christian is not just about individual salvation; it’s about being part of a community that holds each other accountable. We are a family in Christ, and as a family, we must care for, support, and correct one another in love. We are called to sharpen each other and bear one another’s burdens. Let’s live out this calling every day, as we grow in Christ and glorify God through our unity and love.
Let us pray:
Lord, thank You for making us part of Your family. Help us to be accountable to one another and to love each other the way You love us. Guide us in walking together in faith, encouraging each other, and restoring one another gently when we fall. We give You all the glory and honor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Together, let’s continue to be the church that supports, builds up, and holds each other accountable. have a great day ahead.
