As christians, we are challenged to be steadfast and abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing their labor in winning souls is not in vain.

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever" - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NIV)

Faith in His precious promises is what God desires of us all, and we are warned that unless we trust His Word we can't please Him. But the Lord is gracious to us for He knows that we are but dust. The Lord is long-suffering and of great goodness and He knows that doubts and discouragement can be triggered by so many things that mar our lives, and so He often expands His words of comfort with a beautiful postscript, underlining and emphasizing His great goodness and loving-kindness:

"Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
