With hearts ablaze and spirits ignited, the Youth Summerlympics 2023 kicked off at the serene and sacred grounds of Passionist Spirituality Center in Brgy. Siguel, General Santos City. Guided by the theme, โWhen the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen,โ we embarked on a journey of camaraderie, competition, and spiritual enlightenment over three incredible days!
Day 1: The Youth Summerlympics 2023 began with a Holy Hour, offering a moment of introspection and prayer for divine guidance and blessings. The night came alive with the Parade of Lights and Yell Competition, where teams showcased their unity and creativity, setting the stage for an electrifying journey ahead. The Opening Ceremony officially kicked off the games, uniting participants from all walks of life under the banner of sportsmanship and friendship. Rhythms collided and cultures merged in a mesmerizing Dance Fusion, celebrating diversity and harmony among the participants.
Day 2: The morning started with soul-stirring melodies and heartfelt praises during Praise and Worship, setting the tone for a day of enlightenment and spiritual growth. Inspirational speakers shared wisdom and experiences in the Plenary Talk, inspiring young minds to embrace lifeโs challenges with faith and determination. Minds were put to the test with challenging Mind Games, encouraging strategic thinking and teamwork. Thrilling adventures and traditional Filipino games took place during the Amazing Race & Larong Pinoy, fostering healthy competition and sportsmanship. The evening culminated in the coronation of Mr. and Ms. Summerlympics 2023, celebrating the epitome of the Summerlympicsโ spirit.
Day 3: The day began with Kape Ta Bhai, warm cups of coffee, shared conversations, and laughter, strengthening the sense of community that blossomed during the event. A riot of colors and infectious energy filled the air during Color Zumba, celebrating the joy of life and the gift of movement. In gratitude, participants came together for a heartfelt Holy Mass, seeking blessings for the future and cherishing the memories made. As the sun set on the Summerlympics, participants rejoiced in each otherโs triumphs and accomplishments during the Awarding Ceremony, cherishing the bonds forged throughout the series.
By a stroke of luck, with pride and humility, we celebrate our achievement as the overall second runner-up, knowing that our efforts and sportsmanship have not gone unnoticed.
The Youth Summerlympics 2023 has been a testament to the power of faith, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. As we bid farewell to this memorable event, let us carry its spirit within us, knowing that when the time is right, beautiful things will happen. Until we meet again, let this be a reminder to keep the fire within us alive and to continue embracing lifeโs challenges with unwavering faith in the divine plan.

In the spirit of the eventโs theme, โWhen the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen,โ we recognize and thank God for His divine presence, grace, and providence that made this gathering possible. We are grateful for His unwavering love and guidance, which inspired us to come together, celebrate unity, showcase talents, and embrace the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie. May our hearts be forever filled with gratitude and reverence for the blessings bestowed upon us by the Almighty.
