Preparedness as a Lifestyle
Matthew 25:1-13
1. Keep Vigilant
The Parable begins with the announcement of the bridegroom. This is a reminder that Jesus is Coming Back.
Some may Forget or Delay, but the bridegroom's coming is certain.
Just as the Virgins waited, we too are waiting. But waiting is no passive - it is ACTIVE EXPECTATION.
Matthew 24:44 John 14:3
2. Prepared & Unprepared
The wise virgins brought extra oil. They thought ahead, ready for any delay.
The foolish virgins had lamps but no extra oil. Outwardly, they looked the same, but inwardly they were empty.
Preparedness is more than Appearance. It is about a heart filled with faith, the HOLY SPIRIT & Obedience
Unpreparedness is living carelessly, assuming there will always be more time.
Matthew 7:21 2 Timothy 4:7-8
3. THE OIL WE NEED
The oil represents faith and the holy spirit that keeps our lamp burning. Without the oil, the lamp is useless.
The wise kept their light shining because they had oil. The foolish lost their light in the darkness.
Our faith cannot be borrowed. The foolish asked, "Give us some of your oil," But salvation is personal.
Ask for the Holy Spirit to filled daily! Walk in the Spirit, obedience and faith.
Psalm 119:105 Zachariah 4:6 John 15:5
4. Be invited by the Bridegroom
When the bridegroom arrived, the prepared went in and the door was shut.
The greatest tragedy of the foolish virgins was not just missing the moment — it was hearing the words: " I do not know you"
Today, the invitation is still open. Now is the time to prepare.
Revelation 3:20 Revelation 19:7 Matthew 7:23
