The F. De Castro Vocal Ensemble was formed through the collaboration of three chapel choirs under San Jose Manggagawa Parish: the Sta. Cecilia Youth Choir, Coro Medalla Milagrosa, and Birhen ng Peรฑafrancia Choir. Composed mostly of active parish youth, the group first collaborated in December 2009 for a Christmas Mini Concert under the leadership of Michael Alvarez, Anavay Labiano-Cellona, and Randy Plamiano.
The ensemble later staged its first major concert, Voices as One, in 2012 and Through the Years in 2016, both led by Alfred Colobong Jr. and Anavay Labiano-Cellona. In 2014, the group also participated in the Paskoncert, organized and headed by DLSU-D Chorale.
Today, the ensemble is led by Isiah Marion L. Palomares, a pioneer member who helped conceptualize the collaboration among the chapel choirs. He remains an active member and conductor of the Sta. Cecilia Youth Choir while continuing the ensembleโs mission of unity, faith, and musical excellence.
This year of 2026, the ensemble once again held its recent concert after 10 years: "Lakbay ng Himig at Pananampalataya." It shows exactly who the ensemble is today, a combination of pioneer members from the early chapel choir days and the new voices who have joined the family along the way. This performance is proof that while the look might change, the core mission of bringing people together through faith and music remains exactly the same. Bridging our history with a more exciting future ahead.
