𝚈𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚑 𝙰𝚕𝚒𝚟𝚎
𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚
“Two Miracles, One Powerful God”
ACTS 9:31-43

Key points:

1) Healing requires faith
-Aeneas, believed by faith that he is healed and he got up!

“Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up.!~Acts‬ ‭9‬:‭34‬ ‭NIV‬‬

2) Follow Jesus’ Pattern
“Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.”~Acts‬ ‭9‬:‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Peter asked them to go out before praying to...

*To create a quiet, private setting for prayer.
-Peter “put them all out” and then knelt down and prayed (Acts 9:40).
*To avoid making the miracle a public spectacle.
-The focus was on God, not on Peter.
*It resembles Jesus’ approach.
-When Jesus raised Jairus’s daughter, He also put people outside before raising her (Mark 5:40–41). -Peter may have been following the example of Jesus.
*It shows dependence on God.
-Peter didn't act as though he personally possessed resurrection power. He first prayed, then said, “Tabitha, arise.”

3) To show that Jesus’ Power Transcends the Impossible
-His power goes beyond what humans consider impossible
-He healed and raised the dead to life.

“Building a Peaceful and Strengthened Church”
ACTS 9:20-31

Text:
[31] Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

Question: How did the churches in Judea, Galilee and Samaria became peaceful, strengthened and increase in number?

1. Having Boldness in Sharing the Word of God
• Despite his past, Saul boldly joined the disciples and proclaimed the Gospel.
• His transformed life gave him the courage to share the message of Christ openly and faithfully.
Result: Many were astonished. They saw a MIRACLE in the conversion of Saul.

2. Correcting Misconceptions and Judgment Toward a Fellow Believer
• The disciples were initially afraid and doubtful of Saul because of his past.
-However, Barnabas stood by Saul and testified about his genuine conversion, devotion, and boldness for God.
• Barnabas helped restore trust and acceptance within the church.
Result: Fear and suspicion were removed, preventing DIVISION among the believers.

3. Showing Concern and Extending a Helping Hand to Fellow Believers
• When plots were made against Saul's life, the disciples did not abandon him or turn him over to his enemies.
-Instead, they helped him escape and protected him from harm. They became willing to help.
Result: Love,care, unity and concern were demonstrated in the church

Conclusion:
I. A peaceful and strengthened church is built when:
• believers boldly share God's Word
-use the Word to encourage others and your life as testimony; a living testimony of His greatness
• choose understanding over judgment
-understanding new believers is a way of showing that YOU ARE WELCOMING them,demonstrating the love of God to sheeps who found their way back to Him
• willingly extend help and protection to one another
-Members of God's church must look after one another because we are family.

II. The result of a Peaceful & Strengthened Church are:
• Living in the fear of the Lord
• Encouraged by the Holy Spirit
• A church increased in numbers

Challenge:
May God’s greatness and miracles be reflected and evident in our church.
