OUT YOUR STORMS #
Psalms 92:12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Let us look at the characteristics of the palm tree.
A palm tree grows straight up pointing towards the heavens . Often grow strong and tall , can grow up to a hundred feet.
It can stand strong in the midst of violent winds. During a fierce storm, a palm tree will be bowed to the ground but not broken.
As soon as the storm cease it bounces right back, standing strong, pointing towards the heavens.
When a palm tree is bent under the pressure of violent winds ,it is pushed and stretched , Strengthening it's root system , giving it more opportunities for new growth
The righteous is compared to the palm tree. Yes we will be Tossed, swayed with the violent seas, storms and strong winds of life, but after the storms you will bounce back and become even stronger than before ;having your roots pushed and Strengthened in Christ, giving you more opportunities to grow spiritually and achieve new growth of faith in Christ.
Storms strengthen your roots in Christ. It is in the storm you discover God's power to deliver and your own helplessness, your insufficiencies and ability to deliver yourself, you have no alternative but to dig your roots deep in Christ , standing on his promises.
Believers I implore to dig your roots in Christ,be rooted and grounded in Him
HOW DO YOU DIG YOUR ROOTS IN CHRIST?
1 . Daily read and meditate upon God's words
2. Believe God's words and stand on his promises..
3. Discipline your self to seek the Lord Daily in Prayers.
Spend time in the presence of God daily . Pray for at least an hour each time you pray. Pray at least twice Daily. It can be more. Pray without Ceasing
4. Seek the face of the Lord in weekly fastings.
5. Walk in obedience to God's words. Obedience gives you access and connection to the kingdom of God.
6. Walk in love. Love is the currency in the kingdom of God. Just as money answereth all things , LOVE answers all things in God's Kingdom
Christians sink your roots deep in Christ the life giver, The source of all life and our strength.
John 15:4-5 stated
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Psalms 92:12 says "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon."
One of the features of the Cedars of Lebanon, for every 10 feet above the ground, It sinks its roots 30 feet under, which means it is sturdy and strong. The believer is compared to the Cedars of Lebanon.
Believers let us cling to the life giver. Let us sink our roots deep in Christ so that we will not be destroyed by the violent winds of life. Only then can we stay strong as we passes through violent storms of life .
I don't know what storms or violent winds that may be blowing in your life today. It may be the storms of sickness, diseases, you may find yourself in a financial ditch, the death of a love one, marital problems, wayward children, you name them.
Believers God compares us to the palm trees He said the righteous shall flourish like the palm tree , stand strong in the midst of your storms , hold on to Jesus, never let go his hands. Stand firm like the palm tree with your eyes and heart bows toward heaven. A true believer is always looking up to heaven trying to please his Lord in every way.
Believers God knows that we will experience difficulties and he has equipped us with the necessary tools to overcome and become stronger Christians despite our storms. He also promise us that he will never leave us nor forsake us.Matthew 28:20:says" lo I am with you always".
He says in John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
Believers no storm is forever.Every storm has an expiration date. Trust God he will calm the storms in your life. He spoke to the winds and the winds obeyed him. Mark 4:35-41. Fellow Christian the storms that come to break you. It will be the storm that the Lord uses to make you better Christians.
Another characteristic of palm tree it is not affected by drought. The palm tree is not affected weather conditions. Believers When you are going through your dry season. Stand strong in the words of God. They will keep you from drowning in the sea of depression.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Believers ride out your storms. Christ is right there with you.
Have a blessed day
