Friday of the 26th Week in Ordinary Time

Jesus said to them, “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. — Luke 10:13

When God is revealing himself in the faces of the people around us, especially the poor, have we given enough attention? When the Lord speaks through the cries of the homeless, the orphans, or the oppressed, do we truly listen? When Jesus challenges us to stand up for truth and fight against injustices in our society, like He did before, what did we do? We remained silent and indifferent.

Jesus in the gospel has all the right to rebuke us, for woe to us indeed for choosing apathy instead of solidarity, for propagating lies instead of upholding the truth, for claiming entitlement instead of service, for siding with indifference instead of love. Woe to us indeed for Jesus has called us to serve and love one another, but we end up taking advantage of the weak and the poor.

The Gospel is not a form of literature that we only read, it is a real invitation that we must choose to embrace. Jesus is not just a historical figure whose words we only hear being proclaimed; He is our Lord and Redeemer, ever alive today, inviting and challenging us to live out the words He preached and imitate the life He lived.

May this holy week help us in our realizations, in our self improvement-physically, emotionally, and foremost, spiritually. Moreover, may we portray the true meaning of Lenten season, the essence of friendship, the power of faith, and the strength of having a voice from within.

It has been an enthusiastic and fun camp. Aside from everybody enjoyed the gathering, for sure each and everyone attended have brought much learnings at home.

A warm greetings to all participants for participating and answering the call of ministry. Nonetheless, it's a success and great time especially for the newbies in the group.

May our ministry become our way of life!
