ASH WEDNESDAY

The Lenten journey begins
What is Ash Wednesday?
It is the beginning of Lent, a time of preparation for Easter.

Spiritual Meaning:
• Reflection and Change – It invites us to examine our lives.
• Humility and Fragility – “You are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
• Repentance and Conversion – We are called to improve and change.

Prayer
Fasting
Charity

The Rite of Ashes

Ashes are placed on our foreheads:
“Repent and believe in the Gospel.”
“Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.”

What does it remind us of?
• We are fragile.
• We are dust…
• We need to change. We can improve.
• Let us seek God with faith and love.

February 3, 2026 | RELIEF DISTRIBUTION FOR FLASH FLOOD VICTIMS AT GKK MACAMILCO

The Our Lady of Peace Parish Dian-ay stood with our parishioners affected by recent flash floods which happened last January 31, 2026 by distributing essential relief goods provided by the Diocese of San Carlos.

Under the guidance of our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Wilfredo C. Bayohin, our dedicated youth volunteers worked together to ensure assistance reached those in need in our community. In times of hardship, faith calls us to be hands and feet for one another.

To all who received help and everyone who supported this effort – may we continue to hold each other in prayer and solidarity.

Bakit wala dapat prosperity bowl ang mga Katoliko?

Dapat lang! As we approach the start of a new year, it is essential to distinguish between genuine religious devotion and superstition. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines superstition as a distortion of religious feeling that attributes magical powers to certain practices or objects. While some traditional practices may be lawful or necessary, attributing their efficacy solely to external performance rather than interior dispositions is a form of superstition.

Let it be known that Catholics who are faithful to the Church's teachings are not easily swayed by superstitions. They have found in their faith a source of comfort and strength that surpasses any superstitious belief. While it is natural to experience fear, Catholics trust in God's protection and provision rather than relying on superstitions.

As we bid farewell to the past year, let us all strive to entrust our lives fully to God and avoid superstitions. May we continue to deepen our faith and trust in the Lord's guidance and provision for the coming year.
