2026 CIPH PAR2 Pastors and Spouse’ Conference

Many thanks Compassion International Pilipinas for such a refreshing and restful experience during the PAR2 Pastors and Spouses Conference. This has been the first of its kind among all the recent conferences. Usually, it is just for pastors, so it was a blessing indeed to experience this together as couples.

Here are a few takeaways.

• We are excited to see and witness where the Lord will lead CIPH under the fresh leadership of its National Director, Ate Lenly Gula. She brings vast mission experience, sharing the message of Christ through transformative community work in Cambodia’s killing fields and in conflict affected areas of Kenya.

• We are reminded to strike a healthy balance between rest, ministry, and life’s other responsibilities. The sessions on rest and ministry realities were not only timely but extremely comforting. Thank you to Ptr. Jon and Melody Arieta. A power couple indeed.

• The existence of Compassion Philippines Inc. (CPI), the fundraising arm of CIPH, serves as an encouragement for frontline partner churches like us to give back financially to the cause of ministering to children and youth in the Philippines. This should also inspire us to implement localized compassionate ministries using local resources.

• CIPH, through PAR2 leadership, continues to bless us from glory to glory. The accommodation and food were absolutely superb to the max, truly superlative . Special thanks to PM Regel Regis, PF Anchie, and the entire PAR2 leadership team.

• Above all, to God be the glory for orchestrating everything, placing people, moments, and provisions exactly where they should be. That 's divine providence.

In all of these, we will press on to be God’s hands, feet, and voice in releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Happy 41st Church Anniversary, Tacloban City First Church of the Nazarene

The Tacloban City First Church of the Nazarene joyfully celebrated its 41st church anniversary this year. While the official anniversary date is every April 16, the congregation gathered for a celebration on Sunday, April 19, embracing the theme “Spiritual Growth and Mission.”

The anniversary message was delivered by Rev. Bryan Azura, Senior Pastor of Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene, who emphasized the church’s calling to grow not only in number but in spiritual depth and missional obedience.

Drawing from Philippians 1:1–10, the message highlighted three key exhortations for the church: to work collaboratively in obedience to the Great Commission, to take prayer seriously as a sustaining force of ministry, and to abound continually in its walk with God. These truths served as a reminder and a renewed challenge for the congregation to remain faithful in its calling.

The history of the Tacloban ministry is a testimony of God’s enduring grace. The work began in 1976, and through God’s providence, the church was officially organized in 1974. The chosen anniversary date of April 16 commemorates the dedication of its present church building in 1985, a significant milestone that symbolizes God’s provision and faithfulness through the years.

As the church reflects on more than four decades of ministry, it's obviously clear that God has been faithful from the very beginning, and He continues to sustain His church today. This anniversary celebration was not only a time of remembrance but also a call to press forward in spiritual growth and mission until Christ returns.

Indeed, God’s faithfulness has been evident from the establishment of this church up to the present, and it will continue onward until He comes again.

To God be all the glory!

Warmest congratulations to Rev. Jared and Jessica Abeniz on your beautiful union in marriage last April 18, 2026, officiated by Rev. Bryan Azura, Senior Pastor of Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene.

It was truly an honor and a joy to witness and solemnize the coming together of two individual lives, uniquely crafted by God, now joined as one in His divine purpose.

May your marriage be firmly grounded in the truth and wisdom of Scripture as you build a Christ centered home together, bearing one another’s burdens with grace, nurturing a love marked by deep and faithful intimacy, and standing side by side through every challenge and victory. May your covenant be continually strengthened under the loving lordship of Jesus Christ, who is the foundation of your union.

May the Lord pour out His abundant grace upon you, fill your home with enduring joy, and sustain you with His unwavering faithfulness all the days of your life together.

Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene Rejoices in the Birth of Maramag Church

Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene rejoices in the official organization of Maramag Church of the Nazarene in Brgy. Maramag, Balangkayan, on April 12 of this year. The newly established church begins with 24 pioneering members, excluding children.

This is a clear manifestation that God has been faithfully at work in this place, from the early days of ministry up to this moment when a local church has finally been established. This once a mission field is now a living testimony of God’s sustaining grace.

The organization of Maramag Church stands as the first tangible result of Balangkayan Church’s Vision 5 10 2.5, which seeks to plant 10 churches by the year 2030. Truly, God is bringing this vision into reality.

We honor the collective efforts of individuals who have tirelessly toiled in this mission, faithfully engaging children, youth, and adults, and leading them to the feet of Jesus Christ through intentional discipleship.

The church has consistently invested in this ministry by sending groups of young people weekly to conduct evangelistic and discipleship activities in the area. These include feeding programs, Bible storytelling, teaching gospel songs, and prayer ministries among children and youth. In addition, Vacation Bible School has been conducted annually, strengthening the spiritual foundation of the community.

As an initial fruit of these efforts, 14 young souls were baptized in 2022 and 2023 from Maramag, an early harvest that pointed to what God was preparing to do.

We also give special recognition to Pastor Kent Harvey Boco, who answered the call to serve as a full time church planter. He willingly stepped into the challenge and assumed ministerial leadership in the latter part of 2024. He is faithfully and inspiringly partnered by Renelyn Montes in this ministry.

Beyond Maramag, Balangkayan Church is actively engaged in church planting efforts in Magsaysay, Cantubi, and Cabay, all within Balangkayan, as well as in Guiuan.

For this year, the church continues to pray for more laborers as it seeks to expand mission work into Llorente and other areas.

In response to the challenge declared during its 51st Church Anniversary, themed “Toiling On ’Til Jesus Comes,” the church remains steadfast in its commitment to labor in God’s vineyard in obedience to the Great Commission.

Above all, we give praise to God for His faithfulness, His love and compassion that endure forever.

To Him be all the glory!

The church rejoiced as 8 precious souls from the Maramag mission were baptized, beautiful fruits of faithful toiling in the field.

This baptismal service also served as a prelude to the upcoming organization of the Maramag Church of the Nazarene, marking a significant step in God’s ongoing work in the area.

Indeed, this is a reminder that as we obey the call to make disciples, Jesus remains with us always until He comes again.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

It was a wonderful time to celebrate God’s faithfulness to His church since He established it 51 years ago.

We honor the people whom God used in starting this church, together with the charter members who served as pillars and brought the church to what it is today. We also honor our ministry partners who have generously provided for the many needs of the church.

We especially honor the pastors who have faithfully served and toiled on in shepherding the flock since the church was started.

Through the years, it has produced close to 50 Bible school graduates and church workers who have served in various leadership, pastoral, and ministry areas.

This year’s celebration has been especially remarkable, with more than 200 in attendance, as worshippers came from our ministry areas in Magsaysay, Cantubi, Cabay, Guiuan, and Maramag.

We are also grateful to have Ptr. Renz Fherman Azura as our anniversary speaker, who faithfully delivered God’s Word to inspire and challenge us to keep toiling on.

Today, the church has become more intentional in its pursuit of obeying the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus by making disciples as it toils on toward Vision 2030, which aims to plant 10 churches by the year 2030.

Moving forward, the Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene will continue to toil on in proclaiming the Gospel and the message of holiness to the places where the Lord will lead us.

To God be the glory!

As part of the 51st Anniversary of Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene, hearts were stirred on the first night of revival through the moving message of Pastor Renz Fherman Azura.

It was reminder that revival cannot be planned or scheduled. Revival is ignited when hearts come before God in full surrender. More than an event, revival is a daily posture of dependence on Him, especially in moments when life feels heavy and we realize how deeply we need His help.

Through Luke 8:41–55, the life of Jairus beautifully illustrated what it means to truly seek God. In his desperation, he came humbly and remained persistent in faith. He chose to trust Jesus even through delays and discouragement.

His story calls us to do the same, that is to lay down every burden, trust in God’s perfect timing, and remain steadfast in His presence. It’s in surrendering and believing that revival begins.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗢 𝗜𝗧 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟮)

On the second night of revival, we were reminded through Mark 5:25–34 that transformation begins when we take a step of faith and come to Jesus. The story of the bleeding woman shows that desperation can become the doorway to deliverance.

Despite years of suffering, financial loss, and being considered unclean, she chose to press through the crowd and reach out to Jesus. In the same way, we are invited to move past our fears, shame, and other struggles, and come to Him just as we are.

Her encounter with Jesus shows us that faith begins when we hear about Him and respond. She believed that even a simple touch could change her life, and it did. Jesus was not made unclean by her condition; instead, His power made her whole.

This prompts us not to delay or hold back. No matter how tired or broken we feel, we can come to Jesus not to offer something, but to receive everything, because He alone is the source of true healing and transformation.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗘𝗡𝗝𝗢𝗬 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟯)

On the culminating night of the revival services, the church was reminded through Luke 15:11–26 that God has given us the gift of free will, the ability to choose, and with it, the opportunity to experience His love in a real and personal way.

Our lives today are shaped by the choices we make, and revival calls us to choose to return to God daily. Through the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus revealed the heart of the Father, a heart that seeks, welcomes, and celebrates the lost.

It was a straightforward message that God’s love is patient, allowing us to choose even when we turn away from Him. It is generous, meeting us with open arms when we decide to come back, not wanting to condemn but to embrace.

And it is restorative, giving us back our identity, purpose, and position as His children. The final night became a prevailing moment as the Holy Spirit moved among the people, stirring hearts to recommit, rededicate, and surrender. It was an assuring notice that God is not excited to punish us, but to receive us and celebrate with us in His presence.

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? … But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55–57

It was a joyous celebration as we gathered for our Joint Sunrise Service at the grounds of Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene honoring the victory Jesus won for us more than 2,000 years ago.

We were blessed to be joined by our brethren from our mission areas in Maramag and Cabay, as well as from San Gregorio and Balogo Church of the Nazarene. Truly, it was a joyful picture of unity in Christ.

We also thank God for the inspiring message of hope shared by Pastora Cristina Montes , reminding us of the living hope we have in Him.

The breakfast treat was a also testament of the Lord's overflowing provisions. Thanks to Dr. Jan Ernest Yadao.

Indeed, Jesus is alive... and because He lives, we can face tomorrow!

CREATED TO CARE

If God cares deeply for His creation, then we, as His people, are also called to care for it.

As part of the 51st Anniversary Celebration of Balangkayan Church of the Nazarene, the church conducted a mangrove tree planting activity along the shorelines of Yungod, fronting the town of Balangkayan.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the church has carried out this initiative, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and community service.
