Novena to Saint Joanna, wife of Chuza and Myrrh Bearer

DAY 6

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Saint Joanna, the heavenly messenger told you and your companions to come and see the place where the body of Jesus was laid. The tomb was empty. You went away quickly from the tomb, fearful yet overjoyed. Then Jesus met you, and opened your eyes so that you might recognize Him in His glorified state. Overjoyed, you embraced His feet and did Him homage.

In His resurrection, Jesus is no longer as before. In His glorified body and glorious state, He lives now in the glory of the Father, the glory that was His before the world began, before He took on our human nature. Our dear Saint, help us raise our vision to heaven where the Lord has prepared a place for us. Remind us that we are just passing through this world, for our citizenship is in heaven.

Today we ask for this particular grace (mention here). Help us to pray for what we truly need, and to trust in the mercy of God and your powerful intercession. Amen.

O Blessed Santa Juana de Cuza,
Model of charity, humility, and devotion,
You dedicated your life to serving the poor,
Caring for the sick, and living a life of profound prayer.

Through your example, you taught us
That holiness is found not in grand gestures,
But in humble acts of love and service
To those in need and to God’s holy will.

Intercede for us, dear Santa Juana,
That we may follow your example of charity,
Open our hearts to the poor and the suffering,
And inspire us to grow in our love for Christ
Through prayer, penance, and selfless action.

Help us to live with humility and devotion,
Trusting in God's plan for our lives,
And to always seek His will above our own.
Grant us the grace to be instruments of His love
In every moment, every encounter, and every act.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ,
Our Lord and Savior,

O Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, our beloved Mother of Sorrows, we come before you with heavy hearts and deep reverence, seeking your comforting presence in the midst of our trials and tribulations. You who are known for your tender compassion and boundless mercy, we entrust our burdens to you, knowing that your maternal care is ever-present and your intercession powerful.

In our moments of anguish, whether they be physical, emotional, or spiritual, we turn to you for solace and strength. May your gentle hands lift us from the depths of our despair and your loving gaze guide us towards hope and renewal. When the weight of our suffering feels unbearable, grant us the fortitude to persevere and the faith to trust in God’s divine plan.

O compassionate Mother, look upon us with kindness and understanding. Intercede on our behalf with your Son, Jesus Christ, that we may receive the grace needed to overcome our struggles. Help us to see beyond our immediate pain, finding comfort in the knowledge that you walk with us every step of the way. Saint Juana de Cuza, devoted servant of Christ, who lived your life with unwavering faith and steadfast love, we come before you seeking your intercession. You embraced the Gospel with profound humility and selflessness, dedicating yourself to the service of others and to the glory of God. Your life is a testament to the power of true Christian love and commitment.

We ask you, Saint Juana, to intercede on our behalf before the throne of God. Help us to follow your example of living a life of grace, compassion, and tireless service.
