This year we celebrate the birth anniversary of the Venerable Fr. Leo Dehon within the embrace of the ordinary Jubilee of the Church: “Hope does not disappoint” (Rom 5:5). Furthermore, we do so on the threshold of the centenary of his death and on our journey towards the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Congregation (2028). These events and dates invite us to renew our Christian commitment and to thank God for the life, charism, and work of our Founder.

Today, we observe Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Lenten season—a time for prayer, fasting, and reflection. 🙏
On this day, believers attend church services where ashes, made from the burned palms of the previous year's Palm Sunday, are placed on their foreheads in the shape of a cross. The priest or minister usually says, "𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧" or "𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥." SAN PEDRO CALUNGSOD MAIS ZONE

Saint Pedro Calungsod, Patron Saint of the Youth, pray for us 🙏🏻

On March 5, 2000, during the Great Jubilee, we rejoiced as our katagilungsod Pedro Calungsod was raised to the honors of the altar by the Pope now Saint John Paul II in the vast expanse of Saint Peter's Square in Rome. In his homily, Pope St. John Paul II shared these inspiring words with the gathered crowd, "From his childhood, Pedro Calungsod declared himself unwaveringly for Christ and responded generously to his call. Young people today can draw encouragement and strength from the example of Pedro, whose love of Jesus inspired him to devote his teenage years to teaching the Faith as a lay catechist."

As we move towards the 25th Fiesta Celebration in honor of our dear Katagilungsod, we proudly unveil a logo symbolizing this significant milestone. More than just a symbol, this logo reflects our collective devotion, gratitude, and commitment to spreading God's message of love, compassion, and service through Saint Pedro Calungsod's intercession.
