HE WILL COME FOR YOU

"He led me to a place of safety; He rescued me because He delights in me." -- 2 SAMUEL 22:20

David was a man after God's own heart. And because of it, he had a target on his back. The devil hated him, Saul hated him, and David even got himself into some serious trouble on occasion. Yet he knew enough to humbly cry out to the Lord.

Humility in our heart activates the mercy in God's heart. He doesn't rescue us because we're good or because we've earned it. He rescued us because we need it. His compassion runs deeper than the deepest sea. His love reaches higher than the highest heaven. He is God. He has no rival. He's all powerful. He is also a good God.

When we cry out to Him, He comes for us. He shrouds Himself in darkness and veils His approach before He breaks through. You may not see Him coming, but neither will your enemy. But makes no mistake about it. He will come for you.

If you're in a desperate situation, cry out to God today, and don't hold back. Shift your weight unto His goodness and trust Him to carry you through.

THE LIVING GOD IS WITH YOU

"Come and listen to what the LORD your God says. Today you will know that the living God is among you."
--- JOSHUA 3:9-10

Joshua was about to lead this new generation of Israelites into the Promised Land. They'd need two very important things in order to successfully make this trip: EARS TO HEAR and A HEART TO KNOW GOD and His mighty power and ability to intervene.

We need these too. Pause here for a moment and consider the rogue thoughts and the daily stresses cluttering your brain right now. Set those aside for a moment. Turn off the TV. Put on some worship music and then set your phone aside. Take a few deep breaths. Ponder God's nearness. Lean in and listen to what the Lord your God is saying to you. Listen to His whisper. Do you hear Him?

Though He sometimes seems slow to intervene, do you still believe that His strength endless? Do you believe He is able to rearrange circumstances and intervene in ways that defy the gravity of your situation? Your presence with Him matters. He has things to say to you. He intends to display His power in your life. The Almighty God is with you.

Have a happy Thursday. Live your day in consciousness knowing that the Lord is with you every day. . . . your source of strength, hope, joy, healing and provision. SOLI DEO GLORIA!!!

TWO KINDS OF WISDOM

PSALM 111:10 says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." The troubles and problems of the human race have stemmed from the fact that it has followed the wisdom of the world rather than the wisdom of the Lord.

The Bible says there are two kinds of wisdom in the world. First, there is wisdom that is given by God, a wisdom which, after the mind of Christ, views life in terms of eternity. Of this wisdom, the Scripture says, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy, and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James 3:17).

The second type of wisdom is the "wisdom of the world" which, God says, "I will destroy" (1 Corinthians 1:19).

Now that you know the choice, which kind of wisdom will you choose?

UNQUALIFIED

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And God has chosen the base things of the world and things which are despised." -- 1 CORINTHIANS 1:27-28 MEV

God doesn't choose the best in the crowd, the most organized, the most eloquent, or the most likely to succeed. No! He chooses people like you and me --- people who are simply available.

In reality all of us are unqualified for God's service. But with God's help, we'll finish this life with nothing left to do. God has chosen you for such a time as this! Any scars you carry are proof you made it through the battle. Your testimony is actually a declaration that God is bigger than your past.

Stop declaring you're not qualified and start saying instead, "With God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).
God can really use the nobodies to touch the anybodies for the sake of the most important somebody, named Jesus!

God's call in your life qualifies you for the work of the ministry.

Goodness overload! May God continue to use you mightily in His kingdom and make you a blessing! SOLI DEO GLORIA!!!

STRENGTH FROM CRISIS

"The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all." -- PSALM 34:19

President John F. Kennedy once said, "The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word crisis. One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger --- but recognize the opportunity." Using this technique, the word crisis combines images of danger and opportunity.

Everyone will experience a crisis at one time or another. In a crisis you face dangers, losses, or disappointments, but when you overcome the problems, you will find the hope of new opportunities. That hope comes from the knowledge that God will help you in a time of trouble, and He promises to deliver you.

Let a crisis bring out the best in you. It allows you to become courageous and an overcomer. You will learn from new experiences that may be painful. As you focus on solutions, which come from God, you will discover you are stronger than you thought. Believe that blessings will come from a crisis.

NO ACCIDENT

There are more than 27,000 varieties of orchids, and the orchids is just one of the 270,000 different flower species. There are more than 100 billion stars within our galaxy, and our galaxy is one of more than 100 billion other galaxies. It's said that for every grain of sand there are a million stars. Clearly God operates on the most massive scale, a scale too big for us to get our heads around.

But there is something even more mind-blowing than the size and details of the creation. It's the fact that God knows each one of us by name. He knows everything about you, and He loves us.

PSALM 139:13 says: "You know me inside and out, You know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something." (Message Bible)

You weren't a mistake, and you are not overlooked. You're known and loved by the most powerful and loving God in the entire universe. You are the object of His love!

Have a promising week ahead! You are deeply loved by God and His love for you is unchanging & immeasurable! SOLI DEO GLORIA!!!

POWER AND EFFECT

Jesus tells us that there are two secrets to living with power and effect.

First, there is PRUNING.
"Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." (John 15:2)

All gardeners know that if they cut back and prune plants well, they will produce even more fruit in time. It's the same with us. Pain, sorrow, sickness and suffering, loss, bereavement, failure, disappointment, and frustrated ambition --- they all hurt. Yet these are some of the most powerful ways that God shapes, blesses, and enriched our lives. So don't run from the pruning; recognize it and acknowledge it. Trust the process, stay faithful in the storm, and see the long game.

The second secret is CLOSENESS TO CHRIST.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

You and I cannot take on the giants by ourselves. But with Christ close beside us, we can do all things and endure all things. That's empowered, effective living.

THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH

The hard reality of life is that we will all have to walk "through the valley of the shadow of death." (PSALM 23:4).

When that day comes, we don't need to let fear overcome us. We can borrow David's words and use them as our own prayer: "You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." (PSALM 23:4). The kind of trust in God that Psalm 23 describes isn't just for the darkest days when we grip on life grows faint. It is as much about how to live life right now to the fullest: close to the Source and enriched by His presence and love.

"Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." (PSALM 23:6)

A life of faith is about both how to live life as much as it is about how to face death. They go hand in hand. But whichever and whatever we are facing, the truth is still the same:

"He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshed my soul . . . And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (PSALM 23: 2-3, 6).

Draw on this. I do every day.

IT TAKES FAITH

"Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him." -- HEBREWS 11:6

It takes faith to follow Jesus. It takes faith to trust what you don't understand. It takes faith to walk through the valleys of disappointment, discouragement and disillusionment. It takes faith to overcome injustice, endure suffering, and navigate challenges. It takes faith to keep moving forward in your purpose when all you want to do is quit.

But know this: You're not alone. God is with you. Your faith pleases Him, and when you are weak, He is strong. He is on your side. He won't fail or forsake you!
