The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated on June 27th, and the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary follows on June 28th. This arrangement was instituted in 1969 by Pope Paul VI, moving the Immaculate Heart celebration to the Saturday after the Sacred Heart Solemnity.

St. Julie Billiart, born into 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 in 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, showed an early 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗿.

Despite being 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 and 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, she 𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗲 with Françoise Blin de Bourdon in 1803, which focused on educating the poor and 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀.

Her legacy as an educator and spiritual leader endures, and she is now recognized as 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀/𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

The Catholic Church has been deeply involved in formal education for nearly 2,000 years, driven by its mission to teach and guide humanity toward its ultimate purpose, rooted in Jesus Christ's teachings to "teach all nations" (𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟮𝟴:𝟭𝟵-𝟮𝟬).

Catholic education emphasizes the 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the human person, integrating 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, and 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵, aiming to prepare individuals not only for earthly life but also for their eternal destiny with God.

𝗦𝗧. 𝗝𝗢𝗛𝗡 𝗕𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗘 𝗟𝗔 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘: 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
(Feast Day: April 7)

St. John Baptist de La Salle, a 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁, revolutionized 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗿. Moved by the plight of underprivileged children, he founded the 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, a religious congregation dedicated to providing quality education to all, 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀.

De La Salle's legacy continues to inspire educators worldwide. His emphasis on compassion, dedication, and the transformative power of education has made him a 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.
