Food for the Families of Fisherfolk
CALL FOR DONATION: Transform your kindness into food for the hungry and hope for those affected by the ethanol spill.
Our Action Steps
1) Onsite Assessment. Today, 2 Nov. 2025, we have coordinated with the parish priest, Fr. Nilo, and his team, and conducted a site visit to verify the conditions of the fisherfolk community affected by the ethanol spill.
2) Food for the Families of Fisherfolk. Between October 24 and 27, 2025, a major ethanol spill in Negros Oriental disrupted the livelihood of fishing communities in Bais City, including the Sto. Niรฑo Community in Lapyahan. With fishing suddenly halted, families lost their primary source of income and access to daily food. As a result, there is an urgent need for food assistance to help affected households sustain themselves during this crisis.
3) Donation Drive and Delivery. For the next two weeks, beginning tonight, we are launching a donation drive. Our goal is to raise โฑ100,000.00 to provide food assistance to 100 families on 15 November 2025. We will gather at the Sto. Niรฑo Chapel at 9:00 AM for the Holy Eucharist, followed by the distribution of the relief goods to the community.

10 kilos of rice
Assorted canned goods

Loving Father, we praise and thank You for every blessing You have poured into our livesโfor the gift of family and friends, and for Your constant presence that sustains us.
In a special way, we lift up to You our plea for protection and prosperity,
especially in moments of hardship, disasters, and calamities.
Be our shield in danger, our shelter in storms, and our security in times of uncertainty.
We also pray for the healing of our land. Forgive us for the wounds we have inflicted upon Your creationโ
for the destruction brought by excessive mining and logging,
for the loss and suffering caused by spills and environmental neglect,
and for any act of corruption or injustice that harms life and community.
Renew our land and renew our spirits.
Guide us in caring for the earth as responsible stewards of Your gift.
