God Is In The Restoration Business

This is a real place, perhaps a tension, in which many of us live. We cannot choose whom God restores. So often we say, “Oh, that man would be a tremendous Christian.” Or, “That man has talent—he could really influence a lot of people if he followed Christ.” Yet God has always accepted "whosoever will."

It’s not about where you’ve been or what you’ve done. It’s about Who you’re following.

So often, the men God uses are so far removed from the man we would choose for God to use that we become confused. But God isn’t confused—He is in the restoration, redemption, and renewal business.

Here's the friction in pastoring and leading men—we decide to love every man who walks through the door. We chose to love them all—but we can't choose who walks through the door. That's a heavy thought, and where many of us stumble.

That is why love is not merely an emotion. Love is a command. Love is an act of the will. Jesus has placed within us His Spirit—the Spirit of grace-giving love, encompassing love, embracing love. Therefore, we can love our city, our neighborhoods, our families, and our communities without first qualifying the people we are loving.

“For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16).

God is love, and love always gives.

Three keys in leading and restoring the hearts of men, as part of the CMN Brotherhood.

1. Authentic leaders see potential where others see history

God rarely chooses the obvious candidate. Moses was a fugitive. David was overlooked. Peter was impulsive. Paul persecuted the Church. You can add you and me to this list.

Leadership in God’s kingdom means looking past a person’s past and seeing God’s future for them.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

A restoration-minded leader asks: What could this person become in Christ?

2. Authentic leaders create environments where broken men can be rebuilt

Church leadership is not about managing perfect men—it is about shepherding men who are in the process of discipleship.

Every men's group, event, coffee or open church door is an environment for God’s restoring grace. Leaders cultivate a culture where repentance, healing, and transformation are possible.

“A bruised reed He will not break.” — Isaiah 42:3

Great leaders do not throw away men who are wounded. They help restore them to strength.

3. Authentic leaders obey His command to love—not the impulse to judge

Jesus did not tell us to evaluate who deserves grace. He commanded us to love without first qualifying that man according to our personal standards. You can't clean fish you haven't caught.

“A new command I give you: Love one another.” — John 13:34

Leadership in the kingdom means loving men before and as they are transformed by Christ. Trusting that God’s love working through us is often the very element that brings their transformation.

Serving others means we are not gatekeepers deciding who belongs. We are generous stewards of God's grace, helping restore whoever God sends to us.

God is always and forever doing what He has always done—taking the most unlikely of men and restoring them into powerful warriors for Christ.

This is the CMN Brotherhood. This is what we do.

What You Sow You Reap

Scripture is clear about a law that governs every generation and every nation:

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7).

When evil is sown, chaos is the harvest.

When violence is planted, conflict grows.

Like you, I was rocked when I saw the news of the Iran conflict. I am hopeful. And I can see the hand of God in what you and I have worked on for forty-eight months.

We are sowing life into the hearts of men across the Middle East. We've taped dozens of hours of programs for Pakistan and the Middle East in Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu. Events and training sessions have equipped hundreds of leaders. Thousands of resources have been produced to bring strength, courage, and faith - to build up the men, our brothers in those regions.

Where the enemy has planted fear, our brotherhood plants hope!

The enemy’s objective is simple: create fear, produce instability, and shake a man’s faith. In times of war, unrest, and global uncertainty, the real battle is not just around us—it is within us.

But we trust the One who holds history, nations, and our lives in His hands. “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).

Our confidence is not in the condition of the world. Our confidence is in the character of God. We are sowing Christ in the chaos.

We sow faith, not fear.

We sow courage, not panic.

We sow truth, not confusion.

We sow righteousness, because “the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life” (Galatians 6:8).

We are on a mission to raise up men who carry Christ into their world.

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever” (Psalm 125:1).

This is our call in chaotic times. To be with our brothers. Helping them build courage.

As we build strong fathers, we will rescue the next generation.

We must continue praying for our brothers and friends from Beirut to Bethlehem. We are men on a mission - and that mission is Jesus. Nothing stops the mission.

In His Grace

Distractions will destroy your dreams. Focus is about choosing the dream. Centering our faith in the Lord, hearing His voice, choosing Him. That choice gives your dreams energy. Distractions produce friction and the loss of energy.

Focus isn’t ignorant of context. It’s not narrow. It has perspective. It can see the margins but chooses to do what’s in the center.

Focus is established in the discipline to extract yourself from the unnecessary.

Focus isn't about greater intensity -- it's about greater intentionality.

Focus is the discipline to choose the dream.

Focus is trusting God to be God today.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)

Focus is faith energized. Focus reduces friction. Focus defeats anxiety. Focus builds a strong mindset. Focus keeps us in synch with our purpose. Focus is leaning into His voice over the chaos of the crowd.

"I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." Psalms 16:8 (NIV)

Focus will build an unshakable life.
