Please shield us, O Lord, heavenly Father, for You alone can heal the afflicted and give us protection, in Jesus Name, AMEN!

ONLINE VIRUS ALERT!

Beware of suspicious posts tagged with dozens of names, possibly including yours. This new scam is called “malicious tagging,” and it’s tricking victims into downloading malware*.

In case your name gets tagged in an "adult" video supposedly by me, know that I would never knowingly tag anyone to click on such videos. Also, I would appreciate it if you brought it to my attention for damage control. I would do the same for you.

How the Scam Works:

You get a Facebook notification that a friend tagged you in a post. It appears to be a link to an “adult” video, and a dozen of your other friends are also tagged. Out of curiosity, you click on it. A pop up window appears, saying you need to download a Flash player update before you can watch the video.

DON'T CLICK ANY FURTHER, AND DON'T REPLY TO THE POST. The file you will be prompted to download isn’t really an update; it’s malware. In addition to opening you up to ID theft by scanning for personal and banking information, the malware also perpetuates the scam. It takes over your Facebook account, creates another fake video post and automatically tags a bunch of your friends.

5 Common Mistakes Made By Catholics During Mass.

1. SITTING BEFORE THE PRIEST SITS

In the Mass,the celebrating priest is the representative of Christ in that mass and it is inappropriate for the congregants to sit before he does.

2. MAKING THE SIGN OF THE CROSS REPEATEDLY IN THE MASS

This is the mistake that many Catholics make oftentimes .Making the sign of the cross repeatedly during Mass, especially after receiving Holy Communion, is very wrong. The sign of the Cross is made at only two parts of the Mass... the beginning and at the end.

3. GENUFLECTING WITH THE LEFT KNEE

During the passion of Christ, the Roman soldiers knelt with their left knee to Jesus, but they were actually mocking him.

Catholics genuflect, that is kneel with their right knee, as a sign of respect to the Holy Eucharist. Some Catholics often make the mistake of genuflecting with their left knee which is totally wrong.

4. MEETING THE PRIEST FOR BLESSING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MASS

The priest has already pronounced words of blessings in the Mass at the Concluding Rite just before the end of the Mass. So there is no need meeting him for personal blessings after he has recessed out of the Church.

5. LEAVING THE CHURCH BEFORE THE PRIEST

It is appropriate for you to wait for the Priest to completely recess out of the Church before you can follow suit.

Please let us be Catholics in practice and not just by mere words.

No, I don't "live in fear" of the virus, I just want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

Wearing a mask and standing two meters apart doesn't make me paranoid, weak, scared, stupid or even "controlled",

Adopt a Family..

In Partnership with Panaghiusa Negros Oriental and various kind-hearted donors from the community, we present to you our very own "ADOPT A FAMILY" drive. This is a community initiative to help families that are in need in this time of crisis. This initiative is in support of the government's effort to provide for the poorest of the poor as well as those who are the hardest hit by the COVID crisis. We appeal to all the kind-hearted citizens to join us in this drive to adopt a family and provide them with food or other necessities for a few days. Because of the urgency in getting families adopted, we are simplifying the application process. We will be filtering the applications along with PANAGHIUSA NEGROS ORIENTAL to determine the applicants who will need the most help. About the virus:

1. It is pretty large in size (cell is about 400-500nm diameter), so any normal mask (not just the N95 feature) should be able to filter it out. However, when someone who's infected sneezes in front of you, it will take a great 3 meters (about 10 feet) before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.

2. When the virus drops on metal surface, it will live for at least 12 hours. So remember if you come in contact with any metal surface, wash your hands with soap thoroughly.

3. The virus can remain active on fabric for 6-12 hours. Normal laundry detergent should kill the virus. But if you are really worried, you can add some non-chlorine bleach or oxygen bleach . For winter clothing that does not require daily washing, you can put it out under the sun to kill the virus.

About the symptoms of the pneumonia caused by Coronavirus:

1. It will first infect the throat, so the throat will have the dry sore throat feeling which will last for 3 to 4 days

2. Then the virus will blend into the nasal fluid and drips into the trachea and enter the lungs, causing pneumonia. This process will take 5 to 6 days.

3. With pneumonia, comes high fever and difficulty in breathing. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You will feel like you are drowning in water. It's important to go seek immediate medical attention if you feel like this.

About prevention:

1. The most common way of getting infected is by touching things in public, so you must wash your hands frequently. The virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 mins, but a lot can happen in those 5-10 mins.

2. Aside from washing your hands frequently, you can gargle with Betadine Sore Throat Gargle to eliminate or minimize the germs while they are still in your throat (before dripping down to your lungs).

NOTE: Do not touch your face with hands unless after handwash!!!
