❤️Sharing the gospel isn’t a side task for “super Christians.” It’s the heartbeat of following Jesus. If you know the cure for a disease, you don’t stay quiet.
Here’s why it matters:
🚩It’s a Command from Jesus, Not a Suggestion
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them… and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
Jesus’ last words to His disciples weren’t about building programs or living comfortably. They were about going and telling. The Great Commission is for all disciples, not just pastors and missionaries.
Why it matters: Obedience to Jesus always includes declaring who He is. If we love Him, we keep His commands [John 14:15].
🚩People Are Lost Without It
😇“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” Romans 10:14
No one is born knowing Jesus. People are spiritually lost, broken, and separated from God [Rom 3:23, Eph 2:1-3]. The gospel is the only message that reconciles them to God [2 Cor 5:18-20].
Why it matters: Silence means leaving people in darkness when we have the light. Sharing the gospel is an act of love and mercy.
🚩The Gospel Has Power to Change Lives
😇“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16
Our arguments, programs, and good deeds can’t save anyone. But the gospel—Christ crucified, buried, and risen—carries the power of God to forgive sin, heal hearts, and give new life.
Why it matters: You’re not trying to convince people with clever words. You’re delivering a message that God uses to bring life. That takes the pressure off you and puts the power where it belongs—on God.
🚩It Glorifies God and Fulfills His Mission
😇“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3
God’s plan from Genesis to Revelation is to gather a people for Himself from every nation, tribe, and tongue [Rev 7:9]. When we share the gospel, we participate in what God is already doing in the world.
Why it matters: Sharing the gospel isn’t about us getting recognition. It’s about God getting glory as people turn to Him.
🚩It Grows Us as Disciples
😇“The one who waters will also be watered.” Proverbs 11:25
Every time you share your faith, your own faith grows. You remember what God has done for you. You depend on the Spirit more. You see Jesus as more precious.
Why it matters: Hiding your faith shrinks it. Sharing it strengthens it.
🤝How to Live This Out Today
🔑Start with prayer: Ask God for 3 people to pray for and look for opportunities with. Evangelism starts with dependence
🔑Be yourself: Share your story. “Here’s what Jesus has done for me.” That’s something no one can argue with.
🔑Keep it simple: You don’t need a theology degree. John 3:16, your testimony, and an invitation is enough to start.
🔑Love first: People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Gospel sharing happens in relationship.
Bottom Line:
The gospel is good news that’s too good to keep to yourself. Jesus died, rose, and is Lord. People need to hear that. And God has chosen to use ordinary people like you and me to tell them.
“For Christ’s love compels us.” 2 Cor 5:14
