In the midst of our busy days and quiet struggles, we are drawn together by Señor Santo Niño, the God who chose to come close to us as a child. Small and gentle, yet powerful in love, He becomes our Bato Balani sa Gugma, drawing our hearts back to faith, trust, and hope.

On January 21 (Wednesday), the Paulinian community is invited to celebrate the Feast of the Sto. Niño. We begin with the Holy Mass at 4:00 PM, followed by a procession and the Sinulog dance; simple movements of prayer that allow us to walk, dance, and entrust our lives to God with childlike faith.

All personnel and students are encouraged to wear red and bring their image of the Sto. Niño. Those without an image may bring a white handkerchief as a sign of surrender and trust. A small offering may also be brought as an act of love that reaches those in need through our outreach programs and Annual Prison Ministry.

May the Sto. Niño meet us where we are and gently draw us closer to God and to one another.

With grateful hearts and joyful faith, we gather to honor the Sto. Niño, the Child Jesus who walks with us in simplicity, hope, and love. We invite everyone to join the Holy Mass at 7:00 AM, followed by the Blessing of Sto. Niño images, and a joyful Sinulog dance offered as prayer in movement. May this celebration remind us to trust like a child, love without fear, and rejoice in God’s presence. The faithful are encouraged to bring their own Sto. Niño images.

One year ends, and another quietly waits to begin. We bring with us its blessings and joys, but also its losses, struggles, and unanswered prayers. Tonight, we place all of it in God’s hands.

The Church invites us to start the year not with resolutions, but with a face, a mother’s face. Mary, the Mother of God, shows us that God enters our lives through trust, humility, and a willing heart. She lived in uncertainty yet believed in God’s faithfulness.

Tonight is also the World Day of Prayer for Peace. True peace is not just the absence of conflict but it is God’s presence in our hearts. Through Mary, we entrust the year ahead to God, asking for the grace to be people of peace: patient in a hurried world, compassionate in a wounded world, and faithful in a world searching for meaning.

A Blessed Solemnity of Mary Mother of God!
Happy New Year!

Today, our mother Church solemnly closes the Jubilee Door on the occasion of the Ordinary Jubilee Year of Hope. For a year, this holy threshold has led us into moments of grace renewing our faith, healing our wounds, and rekindling hope in our hearts.

We warmly invite our dear Paulinian family to join the Eucharistic Celebration at 9:30 AM, either onsite at the Cathedral or online through the Cathedral’s FB Live, as we give thanks for the blessings of this Jubilee.

Though the Jubilee Door now closes, the call to hope remains open. May the grace we received continue to be lived out in our lives that we may become Christ's ambassadors of hope in the world.

In the stillness of the night, Love took flesh and chose to dwell among us.
From the manger, hope was born for the world, and for every human heart. ✨
