DYING TO LIVE
John 12:20-33
Rev. Edgar Longcop

The 33rd day of Lentent is a call for all believers to "die to live" by taking up their cross and trusting God completely preparing for the final week of the Lenten journey. It is time to boast on in the cross of Christ, shifting from self-centeredness to a life of surrender to God's will.

"Dying to live" means sacrificing our desire, old habits, and practices to achieve a more meaningful, purposeful life.

1. Dying to Live (Mark 8:34-35)
Coming to Christ was not an easy decision. It came with real cost, deep struggle, and significant risk.

2. Boasting in the Cross (Galatians 6:14)
Christ is the only source of pride, as it represents the triumph of God's grace and salvation.

3. Trusting God's Direction (Proverbs 3:5-6)
When facing decisions, instead of worrying, we are encouraged to fast and pray, trusting that God knows the best direction.

4. The Power of Prayer
We are reminded to "pray always without losing heart" seeking the vision to recognize God in our daily lives. We are encouraged to persevere in righteousness, knowing that the suffering and discipline are not in vain but lead us to sanctification.

As we approach the end of this holy season, take time to pray, reflect on your Christian journey, and trust God in tranforming your heart.

God bless you 🙌 🤍.

THE TRIUMP OF THE CROSS
Mark 9:30-32
Rev. Edgar Longcop

Jesus privately teaches his disciples about his impending betrayal, death and resurrection, marking a pivotal moment where he shifted his focus from public ministry to preparing them for the cross.

Jesus was preparing them for his greatest work: his suffering, death and resurrection.

1. The Hidden Reality of the Cross (v31)
Application: Do we only accept a Messiah who brings comfort and victory?

2. The Silence of Misunderstanding (v32)
Application: Are we afraid to ask God tough questions? Do we prefer comfortable incorrect belief over settling truth?

3. The Courage to Listen and Trust
The irony is that Jesus is surrounded by his disciples yet they were spiritually isolated.
▪︎ He teaches that through humility and trust, we can understand the cross, even when it is painful.
▪︎ When we have courage to listen and trust like a child, then we can understand that the power of the cross is active and functional, offering personal transformation, healing and reconciliation.

Jesus death on the cross- a triumph. It was a triumph of love over hatred, triumph of life over death. Jesus was put to death in cruelest way. Yet his victory was the most magnificent of all. The resurrection gives the cross its power, signaling a victory over death and a new eternal life.

God bless you 🙌.

WE ARE FAMILY: A FAMILY THAT GROWS
ACTS 2:37-47

II. ONE FAMILY
A. The Family Continued- vs. 42
The church is not a place to drop in, get saved, and never come back. Someone who is truly committed to Christ is going to continue.

The Apostle's instructed new believers. It is extreme importance that you [the church] are taught today, no matter if you are a new believer or an older one.

Fellowship- sharing in their faith.
Why do we need this fellowship? Once we make a clear cut decision for Jesus Christ, we are going to experience rejection by those who don't believe. We will find ourselves to be a minority.

Prayer- v42

B. The Family was United - vs 44
Here was a group that spent time and got along with each other.

C. The Family was Shared - vs 44-45
Simply the people of God sharing with each other voluntarily, in order to meet ends.

D. The Family Rejoiced- vs 46-47
They have a positive testimony in the community.

III. THE FAMILY IS UNITED AS ONE FORCE (V47)

The Lord Jesus will build his church here, a model church is here outlined. The message is calling for action: you and I must do our part.

God bless you 🙏 ❤️.

For His Praise Chorale rendered a special song conducted by Sir. Danilo Morcilla.

It is indeed the season of love ❤️ because Jesus has come. Jn. 3:16 reminds us that God so loved the world that He gave His only son. We have the reason to be hopeful and joyful because Jesus is the reason of our hope, joy and love.
