St. Angela Merici 🙏

St. Angela Merici was an Italian religious educator and the founder of the Ursulines, known for her deep prayer life and mystical experiences with God. Born on March 21, 1474, in Desenzano, Lombardy, she became an orphan at a young age and lived a devout Christian life with her sister and uncle in Salo. After her sister’s death, Angela was deeply saddened, especially because her sister had not received the last Sacraments. Through prayer, she received a vision assuring her that her sister was in Heaven. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Angela dedicated her life to serving the Church, joined the Third Order of St. Francis, and vowed to remain a consecrated virgin in total devotion to God.

St. Timothy 🙏

St. Timothy was born in Lystra, Lycaenia, to a Greek father and a Jewish mother, Eunice. He became a close companion of St. Paul, joining him on missionary journeys and assisting in teaching and encouraging early Christian communities. Timothy was involved in missions to Thessalonica, Macedonia, Corinth, and Achaia, and was likely with Paul during his imprisonments. Tradition holds that Timothy became the first bishop of Ephesus, where he was eventually martyred for opposing pagan practices. St. Paul wrote two letters to him, and his feast day is celebrated on January 26.

St. Peter Thomas🙏

St. Peter Thomas was a Carmelite priest from Gascony, France, who joined the order at a young age. He became procurator of the Carmelites in 1342 and later served the popes in Avignon due to his gift for preaching and diplomacy. He was appointed papal legate to several Italian cities and held many church offices, including bishop, archbishop of Candia, and titular Patriarch of Constantinople. Sent by Pope Urban V on missions across Europe and the East to organize a crusade against the Turks, he was seriously wounded during a military campaign in Alexandria in 1365 and died from his injuries in Cyprus. Though never formally canonized, his feast was approved for the Carmelites in 1608.

St. Francis de Sales🙏

St. Francis de Sales was born on August 21, 1567, to a noble family in Savoy near Geneva. Intelligent and gentle, he felt called to serve God from a young age, though his father wanted him to pursue law and politics. He studied in Paris and earned a doctorate in law from the University of Padua at age 24, while quietly deepening his spiritual life. A powerful sign from God during a riding accident confirmed his vocation. Despite his father’s objections, he was ordained a priest in 1593 and appointed provost of the Diocese of Geneva.

St. Ildephonsus🙏

St. Ildephonsus, born around 607, was a Spanish saint known for his deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially his defense of her perpetual virginity. From a noble family and a student of St. Isidore of Seville, he became a Benedictine monk, Abbot of Agalia, and later Archbishop of Toledo in 657. He faithfully served the Church until his death in 667 and was a respected writer and influential figure in the early history of the Spanish Church.

St. Vincent Pallotti🙏

St. Vincent Pallotti, born in Rome in 1795, was a priest who devoted his life to God and the care of souls. He promoted the mission of the Church by involving laypeople in the apostolate and worked tirelessly to spread the faith. Deeply concerned for the poor, he used his resources to establish schools, orphanages, workers’ guilds, and social institutions. A pioneer of Catholic Action, he founded the Society of the Catholic Apostolate. He died in 1850 after falling ill, likely from giving his cloak to a beggar on a cold, rainy night.
