On Holy Thursday, Christians remember the Last Supper, where Jesus Christ instituted the sacrament of Holy Communion before being arrested and crucified. It honors the priesthood he established as well. The holy day is a Thursday that precedes Easter and is a component of Holy Week. Jesus treated the meal as a Passover supper. In order for everyone to be redeemed by Christ's ultimate sacrifice, He would play the part of the Christian Passover victim.
