HE'S NOT TELLING PEOPLE WHAT HE DID.
HE'S TELLING THEM WHO YOU BECAME BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID.
He won’t tell them about the lies, the manipulation, the emotional neglect, or the silent cruelty that chipped away at your spirit day after day. He’s not sharing the countless times you forgave him, even when he didn’t deserve it. He’s not mentioning how you tried to communicate, to heal, to make things work while he continued to break every piece of you behind closed doors. He leaves out the part where you stayed up at night questioning your worth, wondering if love was supposed to hurt this much.
He’s not telling people how your laughter faded, how your light dimmed, how your anxiety grew louder with every unkept promise. He doesn’t mention the gaslighting, the blame-shifting, or the way he turned his wrongdoings into your responsibility. No. That part gets erased.
Instead, he tells them you're "bitter," "cold," "crazy," or "too emotional." He rewrites the story to make himself the victim of your transformation, never once owning the role he played in creating that version of you. He doesn’t say that the woman he first met — full of love, trust, and warmth — didn’t just disappear. She was destroyed.
But you know the truth. You remember everything.
And slowly, you are healing.
One truth at a time.
One breath at a time.
And one day, his version of the story won’t matter anymore — because you will have reclaimed your own voice.
