Sunday Message | 05.24.2026 | Bro. Eduardo Mallari Jr.

"In our world today, cancel culture is quick to erase people for their mistakes, failures, or sins. One wrong move, one poor choice, and society often declares, โ€œYouโ€™re done.โ€ But Jesus shows us a radically different way. He does not cancel the lost โ€” He seeks them out. He does not condemn the broken โ€” He restores them. The parable of the lost sheep reminds us that Godโ€™s heart is not to reject but to redeem, not to shame but to celebrate when the lost are found.

This realization is powerful: Godโ€™s love is relentless. He values the one who strays just as much as the ninety-nine who remain. His pursuit of the lost is not a sign of weakness, but of divine compassion. Cancel culture thrives on judgment and exclusion, but the kingdom of God thrives on grace and restoration. Cancel culture says, โ€œYouโ€™re finished.โ€ Jesus says, โ€œYouโ€™re worth finding.โ€ Cancel culture says, โ€œYou donโ€™t belong.โ€ Jesus says, โ€œYou are mine.โ€

As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect His compassion. That means forgiving instead of condemning, pursuing instead of abandoning, and rejoicing when grace wins. It means seeing people not for their failures, but for their potential in Christ. It means remembering that we too were once lost, and someone โ€” Jesus Himself โ€” came to find us."

Weakness is not something to hideโ€”it is often where Godโ€™s power is revealed the most. Like Paul the Apostle learned through his struggles, God doesnโ€™t always remove our burdens but gives us grace to endure them. Instead of striving to appear strong, we can depend on God, knowing that our brokenness becomes a place where His strength and glory are made visible.
