Memorial of Saint Bartholomew

SAINT BARTHOLOMEW was one of the twelve who were called to the apostolate by our blessed Lord himself. Several learned interpreters of the Holy Scripture take this apostle to have been the same as Nathaniel, a native of Cana, in Galilee, a doctor in the Jewish law, and one of the seventy-two disciples of Christ, to whom he was conducted by Saint Philip, and whose innocence and simplicity of heart deserved to be celebrated by the mouth of our Redeemer himself. He is mentioned among the disciples who were met together in prayer after Christ’s ascension, and he received the Holy Spirit with the rest. Being eminently qualified by the divine grace to discharge the functions of an apostle, he was reported, by various ancient traditions, to have carried the gospel through the most barbarous countries of the East, penetrating into the remoter Indies. He returned again into the northwest part of Asia, and met Saint Philip at Hierapolis, in Phrygia. Hence he traveled into Lycaonia, where he instructed the people in the Christian Faith; but we know not even the names of many of the countries in which he preached. Saint Bartholomew’s last removal was traditionally into Great Armenia, where, preaching in a place obstinately addicted to the worship of idols, he was crowned with a glorious martyrdom. The modern Greek historians say that he was condemned by the governor of Albanopolis to be crucified. Others affirm that he was flayed alive, which might well enough consist with his crucifixion, this double punishment being in use not only in Egypt, but also among the Persians.

37 years of grace. 37 years of faith. 37 years of saying YES to God.

On the feast of the Queenship of Mary, August 22, 2026, we joyfully celebrated the 37th Founding Anniversary and Fiesta Celebration of the Apostolic Daughters of Mary a beautiful journey that continues to unfold through the goodness of God and the loving presence of Mary, our Mother.

For 37 years, we have witnessed how God's grace continues to work in ways beyond what we can see. Through every prayer, every sacrifice, every struggle, and every joyful moment, Jesus has remained faithful, guiding His people and blessing the journey of the Apostolic Daughters of Mary. And we remember with grateful hearts that every blessing, every vocation, every answered prayer, and every beautiful moment in the history of ADM is ultimately a gift from God. Jesus has been our strength, and Mary has been our loving guide.

May we never grow tired of following Jesus, loving Him, and making Him known. May Mary continue to teach us how to love her Son with a faithful and generous heart.

May the Apostolic Daughters of Mary continue to be instruments of God's love bringing hope to those who are hurting, kindness to those who are in need, and the light of Christ to everyone we encounter.

This message reminds us that the mission of the Church is not carried forward by fear, but by courageous faith. We are called to overcome timidity and boldly witness to Christ through our words, choices, and daily lives. May we never be afraid to stand for what is true and good, trusting that God gives us the grace and strength to fulfill our mission.

Nine Days Novena to Our Lady, Mary Mediatrix of All Grace

Throughout this novena, we were reminded that Mary, our loving Mother and Mediatrix of All Grace, always leads us closer to Jesus. She teaches us to trust God, remain faithful in prayer, surrender to His will, and serve with humility and love. May her example inspire us to live our faith more deeply and become instruments of God’s grace.

We also express our heartfelt gratitude to all our presiding priests who celebrated the Novena Mass from day one to nine and shared meaningful reflections throughout these days. Through their inspiring homilies and spiritual guidance, we have been strengthened in faith and encouraged to draw closer to Christ through Mary.

Thank you, dear fathers, for journeying with us in this novena celebration.

Memorial of Saint Pius X

On June 2, 1835, Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto saw the light of earth at Riesi, Province of Treviso, in Venice; on August 20, 1914, he saw the light of heaven; and on May 29, 1954, he who had become the two hundred fifty-ninth pope was canonized SAINT PIUS X.

Two of the most outstanding accomplishments of this saintly Pope were the inauguration of the liturgical renewal and the restoration of frequent communion from childhood. He also waged an unwavering war against the heresy and evils of Modernism, gave great impetus to biblical studies, and brought about the codification of Canon Law. His overriding concern was “to renew all things in Christ.”

Above all, his holiness shone forth conspicuously. From Saint Pius X we learn again that “the folly of the Cross”, simplicity of life, and humility of heart are still the highest wisdom and the indispensable conditions of a perfect Christian life, for they are the very source of all apostolic fruitfulness.

His last will and testament bears the striking sentence: “I was born poor, I have lived in poverty, and I wish to die poor.”
