𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟎𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔— Grateful for the presence of 𝗗𝗼𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀, 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, together with his family, as they joined the Digos United Methodist Church and the Digos UMC Scholars for the first Sunday service of March.

Sharing in prayer, praise, and fellowship, the gathering was a beautiful reminder of unity in Christ and our shared commitment to serve with faith and compassion as we begin a new month. 🙏✨

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗠𝗬𝗙𝗣 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲🦋💙

The 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗼𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗨𝗠𝗬𝗙𝗣) successfully celebrated 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗠𝗬𝗙𝗣 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 last 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, with the theme “𝗨𝗣𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘" based on 𝘌𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 4:24.

The congregation were blessed by the inspiring sermon of our guest preacher, 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝘆 𝗚𝘂𝗷𝗼𝗹, who shared God’s Word and motivated everyone to live as renewed followers of Christ. Your message truly stirred our hearts and strengthened our faith.

As young people, we are reminded to “𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧”— to grow in faith, renew our minds, and walk boldly in Christ. This celebration encouraged us to upgrade not just our dreams, but our character, commitment, and calling as God’s youth.

May we continue to rise as empowered youth — renewed, transformed, and ready to serve.

Hats off, Scholar Allen Gem Alkuino! 🫂💪

𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐃 || 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞-𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐦 𝐀𝐥𝐤𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨

In a world that often moves too fast to notice those in distress, Allen Gem Alkuino serves as a profound reminder of the impact one person can make. What began as a routine drive home around 10:00 PM after a late-night class turned into a life-or-death mission that has left his family and community in awe. This extraordinary event took place this past December, occurring on a quiet Thursday night when the streets were dark and the air was still. Coming across a devastating accident in a pitch-black area, Allen didn't think twice before springing into action. He found a young man—a complete stranger—who was unresponsive and in critical condition, and without hesitation, he committed himself entirely to the rescue.

The scene was one of intense grit and unwavering faith as Allen performed CPR for several agonizing minutes on his knees. Despite the victim showing no initial signs of life and the situation growing increasingly desperate, Allen refused to give up. His sister, who later viewed a video of the incident, described the raw emotion of the moment: Allen was soaked in sweat, relentlessly continuing chest compressions even as they sped toward the hospital in a moving vehicle. Throughout the ordeal, he called out both the victim's name and prayers for strength, proving that his heroic efforts were fueled by a combination of high-level rescue training and a deeply compassionate heart.

Because of Allen’s skill and his refusal to quit, the young man was successfully stabilized upon reaching the hospital. Medical professionals later confirmed that Allen’s immediate and correct application of CPR was the definitive factor that saved the victim's life. Perhaps the most touching part of this story is Allen’s incredible humility. He did not return home to boast of his heroism; in fact, he kept the entire event a secret from his family. They only discovered his bravery days later when a witness sent a video of the rescue to his sister. When she finally reached out to him, Allen’s only concern was for the victim's well-being, noting that while his own body was exhausted and aching from the physical toll of the rescue, the pain was entirely worth it to see a life preserved. Allen Gem Alkuino is a true "low-key" hero, and today we shine a spotlight on his courage, reminding us all that one person’s readiness can change a destiny.

The Christmas party of the scholars was a joyful and successful event. It began with a warm opening followed by fun parlor games that encouraged participation, teamwork, and laughter, setting a lively and festive mood for the celebration. 🥂🎉
