✨ A new chapter unfolded today in the coastal town of Malita, Davao Occidental. What began as a simple gathering soon became a moment of history for the local members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Around 150 faithful came together in a special conference, their hearts full of anticipation, to witness the Malita Branch officially become the Malita Ward.
The change in status was more than just a name—it marked growth, strength, and a deeper sense of belonging for the community of faith. With this milestone came another: the calling of the ward’s very first bishopric. Loreto M. Boc was set apart as Bishop, joined by Rovel G. Huerta and Arnold Q. Jimenea as his Counselors. Cleonante A. Capiluyan was also called to serve as Elders Quorum President in lieu of President Artemio Wata who has faithfully served as quorum president for almost 16 years already.
As the conference drew to a close, members ministered to eachother through shared food, laughter, and stories, weaving bonds of friendship and faith that will carry them forward. For Malita Ward, this day was more than an organizational change—it was a beacon of hope, a reminder that faith continues to grow, and that light shines brightest when shared together.
