"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." - Luke 15:8-10 (NIV)

The passage speaks of the unconditional love and grace of God toward those who are lost. Just as the woman searches diligently for her lost coin, God relentlessly seeks each individual who is lost, whether through sin, despair, or disconnection from Him. The joy in heaven over one sinner who repents reveals the immense value placed on every soul.

How it applies to us today?

1. Recognizing Our Value: Just as the coin was valuable to the woman, we must acknowledge our worth in God’s eyes. No one is too lost to be found; no one is beyond redemption. This realization can empower us to seek God earnestly and encourage others to do the same.

2. The Importance of Community: The woman rejoiced with her friends and neighbors. In our lives, we need to develop a community that celebrates recovery and repentance. We are called to support each other in our journeys of faith, rejoicing together in each victory over sin and despair.

3. The Call to Search: Jesus’ parable encourages us to actively seek out those who are lost in our communities. Whether it’s friends, family, or acquaintances, we are tasked with a divine mission to reach out, share the Gospel, and help others find their way back to God.

4. Rejoicing in Redemption: Foster a culture of celebration within our churches and communities, where repentance and transformation are honored and rejoiced over. This reflects the heart of God and fulfills our call to be light in the world.

Happy Sunday !!!

February 16,2025 Sermon:

The Fruit of the Spirit: Living a Spirit-filled Life
.. the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. - Galatians 5:22-23

The Fruit of the Spirit is presented as the evidence of a life transformed by the Holy Spirit. The term "fruit" are not mere traits to be cultivated through human effort but are the NATURAL PRODUCT OF A LIFE CONNECTED TO THE SPIRIT, MUCH LIKE FRUIT IS THE NATURAL PRODUCT OF A HEALTHY TREE.

In John 15:5, Jesus says, " I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in them bears much fruit."

Our connection to Christ empowers us to embody these qualities. Living a Spirit-filled life means surrendering to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to work in us through us.

As we reflect on the Fruit of the Spirit, let us remember that THESE QUALITIES ARE NOT SIMPLY GOALS TO STRIVE FOR; THEY ARE THE BYPRODUCT OF A LIFE SURRENDERED TO CHRIST. THEY DEMONSTRATE THE REALITY OF OUR FAITH.
